“I can’t say enough good things. Jeff looked after our Great Dane for a week, and he will for sure be the first person we go to when we need a pet sitter again! He kept us updated with little daily paragraphs and pictures and it was so easy to talk to him. We could definitely tell he loved our dog like his own. I feel very confident to say I feel safe leaving my dog in Jeffs care.”
“Kaylan did an excellent job caring for our pets while we were on holiday! I was concerned about leaving them as one of our dogs is diabetic but she took excellent care of all of them and put my mind at ease. Highly recommend Kaylan and will definitely be hiring her again!!”

About: I’m a dog lover and my dog is a lover of all other dogs. I work full time and live a really active lifestyle outside of that. My dog is a dachshund who is 1 year old and super loving. He is great with all dogs from bouviers to chihuahuas. Endless snuggles, a good running companion and puppy park adventures will fill your pups schedule. I don’t have any professional pet sitting experience, just an animal lover that shares the interest in leaving their best friend in good hands! I have a criminal record check and hold a job that requires high integrity and professional obligation. I have finally found a way to monetize my true talent of puppy snuggling... dreams really do come true.
About: I grew up on an acreage with a wide variety of animals to care for, ranging from sheep and goats, to chickens, rabbits, cats and dogs. I have experience in bottle feeding every 2-3 hours even through the night. I also have experience with making homemade nutritious meals for my families senior dog. I often go to the animal shelter to spend time with the animals there as well. I am currently working part time, which leaves me with lots of time to hang out with your beloved pets. I am free to do house sitting, potty breaks, long and short walks, and general play with your pets. I have a reliable vehicle, so I am able to take your pets to the dog park. I am able to keep working with your pets on any training that they may be doing. I am also able to work with you on special feeding requirements, and any other requests to keep your pet happy and healthy.
About: Hi there! My name is Brittany and I am new to Fort McMurray. I am crazy about animals and sadly had to leave my fur babies back in Ontario with my parents. I thought this would be a great opportunity to be able to interact with animals and also help you out as well! I am very active (but sometimes get bored going on walks alone). I think it would be a lot more exciting have a buddy join me! I have grown up with dogs/cats my entire life and looked after them on my own for many years. All from babies so I have experience training both dogs and cats. Also have many friends with rescues that I have spent a lot of time around. I am very patient and want to be able to help you out with the care of your fur babies! I went to school for childcare, was a babysitter for over 10 years and also a nanny. I am very responsible and trustworthy and will treat your pet with nothing but love. I hope to hear back from you soon! :)
About: I've owned a dog or many dogs since I was 18 years old and I am now 53. I specialize in small dogs requiring a safe active loving home environment and im home with them all day or they come with me. I have consistently raised each of those dogs until their natural passing.... I'm not uptight or strict in my care however I am the alpha at my house. I have a very annoying dog whistle that's effective for all dogs and I have never had a problem with recall.(may require training your dog to recall) I prefer consistent training and discipline over crate training but my care for your pet is based on your wants and needs (as long as it doesn't conflict for the others i have in care) and especially consistency for your pet. I allow them on the furniture with training if they are permitted. I train my own pets and can also help with yours. Dogs cats birds reptiles or whatever ...I can also pick up and drop off your pet. I have a special room just for cats as well. Additional tasks required additional costs. (Poor recall, extra needy or whiney or Barry, bigger dogs and or hairy dogs as you know would required extra attention time or cleanup there by reflecting on price. ex: smaller dogs are smaller messes less space/ clean up /big dogs are more hair/foot prints/muscle for care etc. My routine has been the same for the last 35 years... I wake up and I go immediately to take my pets to the dog park where they can be let loose off-leash to do their business... it can take anywhere from 10 or 30 minutes. Then they play or snack or rest at home happily until midday which for them would be approximately between 12 and 3 o'clock I would take them out for another run around same way off-leash And once again at the end of the day before bed between 6 and 10 depending on time of year. That's an example based on a summer schedule however my daily routine would be based on your pet's needs and my preference would be to do 3 times a day if I have them in my full-time care. I have a completely fenced yard with adequate room to run.. I do have 2 other dogs as well that will assist in entertaining yours and keeping them comfortable and assist in training. I also have 2 cats that have no problem with other dogs or if they find the other dogs seem anxious they will hide and not be a bother. I use an open dish policy for food and I treat my pets as though I would my kids. I don't take my eyes off them unless they are safe. I give grain free good food and treats are dried duck or chicken or freeze dried liver or salmon. No milk bones here.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort McMurray choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
