Mel was perfect. On some ways she exceeded expectation. Was the first time away from our dogs and we were worried about how they might deal with our not being around. Mel played, fed and made sure they got lots of attention when she visited. She also provided daily updates which was greatly appreciated. As there was an icy rain fall, she aussi offered to salt the stairs so that it might be easier for the dogs. Just a very good experience and would recommend her to everyone. A true love of her work. There is no doubt.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for my own domestic shorthair cat, Mimi, including feeding, litter box cleaning, grooming, playtime, and making sure she is safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’m also familiar with caring for dogs with megaesophagus and understand the importance of careful feeding routines, keeping dogs upright as needed, and following specific care instructions. I’m comfortable giving dogs medication as directed by the owner and making sure all instructions are followed accurately. Pet care is a regular part of my life, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I can make time for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, companionship, and overnight care when needed. I always make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and supervised, and I follow instructions carefully while providing a calm and caring environment. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine because I have my own domestic shorthair cat, Mimi, whom I care for every day. I’m used to feeding schedules, cleaning litter boxes, grooming, playtime, and making sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I have a flexible routine and can consistently make time for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, companionship, and overnight care when needed. I genuinely enjoy being around animals and giving them attention and patience throughout the day.🤗🐾 I always make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and supervised. In a client’s home, I carefully follow all instructions about feeding, walks, medications, and routines. I make sure pets have clean water, attention, and a calm environment. I’m gentle, trustworthy, and respectful of both pets and their homes, and I always prioritize the pet’s well-being and happiness.

About: Hi, I am new to the industry, but have been dog sitting dogs from the family for the last year and a half. I am currently completing a certification for dog training then aiming to start the dog behaviour one. I believe I have the adequate skills it takes to take care of your dog plus I am someone who is always eager to learn more and take on any feedback given. Looking forward to see what awaits for you and me. I currently work full time 1 weekend out 2. My usual schedule looks like either 2:00-10:00 PM or 3:30-12:00 AM. I have off Wednesdays and Fridays when I work weekends. I would be available most week days before 2 PM and 1 weekend out of 2. I will make sure to make your pet feel at ease and comfortable especially that they would be in their own home. Will be giving them the right amount of attention needed. Feeding them at their usual time, giving them water, playing with them and making sure they are okay at all times. The dog’s wellbeing is my number 1 priority.

About: What sets me apart is the calm, attentive environment I provide. I grew up in a home that regularly rescued and fostered dogs, so caring for different personalities, energy levels, and behavioral needs has always been part of my life. We always had at least two dogs in the house at a time, and I’ve continued that into adulthood with my own rescues - Rose, who I’ve had since she was 1 (now 14), and Baby, who has been with me for 6 years. I’m often told I have a calm, easy energy that dogs naturally trust. I’m especially patient and understanding with anxious dogs and behavioral sensitivities, while still creating a relaxed and stable environment. I work from home, so dogs are never left unsupervised and always have consistent attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. My home is cozy, calm, and dog-focused, with a large fenced backyard for fetch, sunbathing, and safe outdoor time. I treat every dog like they’re my own and prioritize making them feel secure, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I work from home and already structure my days around caring for animals. My own dogs are a huge part of my everyday life, so walks, outdoor time, feeding schedules, play, cuddles, and supervision are already built into my routine. I’m home often throughout the day, which allows me to give pets consistent attention, companionship, and care rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I genuinely enjoy creating a calm, cozy environment where animals can relax, feel safe, and settle into a comfortable rhythm. Weekly, I prioritize keeping a clean and pet-friendly home and making sure animals get both mental stimulation and downtime depending on their personality and needs. Whether a pet is energetic and playful or more anxious and reserved, I’m attentive to helping them feel comfortable and cared for while they’re with me. Safety is always my top priority when caring for dogs in my home. I have two friendly rescue dogs who are calm, social, and well accustomed to sharing space with other animals. I always prioritize slow, respectful introductions and pay close attention to each dog’s comfort level, personality, and boundaries. I provide a calm, structured environment where dogs are supervised closely and never left unattended outdoors. My home is ground level and has a large fenced backyard for safe outdoor time, fetch, bathroom breaks, and relaxing in the sun, and all yard time is monitored. Inside the home, I use tools like baby gates when needed to create separate spaces for rest, decompression, feeding, or quieter introductions. Because I work from home, I’m present throughout the day to supervise interactions, maintain routines, and make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. My goal is always to create a cozy, low-stress environment where dogs can settle in comfortably and feel at home.

About: Hi! I’m Noemie – a passionate traveler and animal lover. I’ve been vegan for over 8 years because I deeply care about the planet, its ecosystems, and all living creatures. When it comes to house and pet sitting, I always go above and beyond. While I’m not regularly on this platform, I bring a wealth of experience from various parts of the world. Over a two-year period, I cared for guests’ pets at the pet-friendly hotel where I worked in Jasper, Alberta, while they were off skiing or hiking in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I’ve also lived for two months at an animal sanctuary in Costa Rica, where I looked after rescued farm animals like pigs, goats, horses, chickens, as well as dogs and cats. During my year-long van trip across New Zealand, I continued pet sitting — caring for cats, dogs, and even a hedgehog! I’m comfortable with animals of all ages, breeds, energy levels, and special needs. Whether your pet is high-maintenance or prefers a quieter pace, they’ll be my top priority — and I promise they’ll have a great time with me. I love pet sitting because it gives me the chance to spend quality time with animals, which I miss when I’m not traveling. I enjoy discovering new places and getting to live like a local while caring for someone’s home and furry companions. All of my past experiences have been incredibly positive. I’d be happy to hop on a video call to answer any questions you might have! Looking forward to meeting you and your beloved pet. 🐾 Warmly, Noemie I’m currently working full time from 6am-2pm. So I’m available for afternoon walks or visiting your fur-friend at their home until evening. Also, I’m free the whole weekend :) I am willing to take your dog at his usual dog park or just for a walk, whatever it’s best for him/her. My place is clean and safe for your pet, I’m living by myself so there is no animals/child in a non-smoking place.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Charlemagne on Rover is $25.53 per visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,774 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Charlemagne. About 83% of Charlemagne sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Charlemagne stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Charlemagne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
