No. Butter is, of course, made from milk, and some dogs are lactose intolerant. Butter is mostly saturated fat and doesn’t offer any health benefits, as some other fatty oils do. If your dog has eaten butter, he should be fine. But avoid giving your dog butter in the future.
If your dog has gotten into a tub of butter, he’s likely to have a belly ache for a few days and may have a few irregular bowel movements. But any adverse reactions should pass in a day or so.
