Pet care experience
I started dog walking as a child and have loved animals my whole life. As a result, I'm a conservationist by trade. I believe that animals play an important role in our families, both as companions and as a critical part of human nature to love and be loved. I have 3 beautiful kids and we are working to buy a home soon so we can give a dog (or a few dogs) a forever home. I'm flexible and a quick learner. I have my own vehicle, and I'm able to do overnight care. I am gentle, yet firm, and I absolutely adore animals of all kinds. I'm a hard worker and I'm committed to getting the job done right. I'm so excited to meet you and your family! *disclaimer* I am aware that I have bad reviews on my page. I've seen these as a chance to learn and move forward in my personal accountability and vetting process for clients. I promise to be very thorough with your family and to deliver exceptional care for your loved ones, as I have now learned better to do.
Reviews
My recent experience with a Rover house sitter was not up to my expectations. My two mature dogs that I left in her care are very well trained therapy dogs, obedient, and trustworthy to have the "freedom of my entire living space". They have not misbehaved, had any accidents or been destructive in any way since they were puppies. When setting up our arrangement, I was very clear that the dogs were used to being with humans, so we agreed that the sitter would stay here in our home and follow the dog's regular routine. I was in daily contact and the sitter and it sounded like she was spending time with the dog's and all was going very well. I let the sitter know when I was on the plane and on my way home. I told the sitter, when the dog's needs had been taken care of, it would be okay for her to leave before I got home. When I arrived home that afternoon, from my daughter's out of state wedding, my dog's were completely stressed out. Actually, I had NEVER seen them this way!!!! Anything that had been in a cardboard box, was shredded on the floor. The instruction booklet for my new Sleep Number bed was torn into bits. Every room in my living space had torn pieces of cardboard and paper scattered all over. My houseplants by the door going out to the deck were tipped over - dirt was everywhere on the floor and rugs. My guess is that the dog's were trying to get outside to urinate. I found a large pool of urine on the carpeting in my bedroom (this has never happened since I have been living here). The dog's did not want to go near the soiled area of the carpeting or even go into that room, which is usually where they like to sleep when I am not home. My dog's DO NOT have separation anxiety. They are very well obedience trained therapy dogs. I leave them home alone often and they always have the run of the house. When I come home they are very happy to see me, but not stressed out or anxious. They are not destructive in any way, so I told the sitter it was fine with giving the dog's the run of my entire living space. I was quite shocked and saddened when I arrived home and saw what had happened. My assumption is that the dog's evidently panicked because they could not get outside to eliminate. I am wondering how long it had been since they had been outside, or if they did not have a chance to eliminate when they had been taken out for the last time. I feel sick about this and so sorry for my dog's that this happened.....
So happy I found Zoie! She is so caring and reliable!
Zoie was personable, kind and attentive to my lucy who has diabetes and is now blind. The house was in order when I arrived home. Grateful to have a wonderful sitter in Zoie.
