Professional Animal Care Background
Pet care experience
I began working with dogs (as well as a variety of animals from snakes, ferrets, rabbits, small mammals, birds/parrots etc.) back in 2009 as a kennel technician for a large corporate company. There I worked closely with vets where I skillfully learned how to perform tasks such as nail trims, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, administration of oral medications, how to give injectable and nasal vaccinations, microchipping, recognizing pain/illness, and basic animal care. With me, your pets will not only be well taken care of, but he or she will be cared for by someone who has been trained on how to work with diverse dog breeds of all ages and temperaments.
Reviews
Stephanie is an enthusiastic animal lover who provides services that go beyond the next step. She was very generous and flexible when it came to scheduling pick-up and drop off times for my Sheltie, Dottie. I received text, and photo updates regularly, and was delighted by videos she took of her adding to Dot's tricks repertoire. I plan to use Stephanie's services again and highly recommend her to anyone who is searching for a quality animal sitter.
Things went very well. We will be using Stephanie/ Rover.com again.
Stephanie did an awesome job with our cats and went out of her way to make them feel comfortable in her home. Would definitely use her again.
She is an amazing dog watcher. Kept us up to date on our dog while we were away. Our dog felt right at home there. We will definitely use her again when we go away, and refer her to others. Thanks a bunch Stephanie!

All overnight stays will require a meet and greet to ensure that I am a good match for you and your pet. This is also to make sure that both your pets and mine will be comfortable around one another. Since I do have multiple pets in the home I am unable to accommodate free feeding, however, any other type of food or medication schedule can be accommodated without issue. I am a big advocate for training and will happily respect and maintain any training or boundaries that you have for your dog while they are in my care. I can also work on things such as leash manners, door darting, counter surfing, begging, jumping, basic commands, etc. at your request. While I do allow pets in the bed at night for cuddles, I do not invite my dogs onto my living room furniture (the husky hair is just too crazy). However, for their comfort I do keep several dog beds around the house for them to lay on at their leisure. During drops-ins and/or walks I am more than happy to play a game of tug or fetch or anything else your dogs likes. Just let me know what your pup seems to enjoy and I can incorporate that.

Information Stephanie F. would like to know about your pet
While I do not have any breed restrictions, I do have behavioral preferences. All of my boards must be human and dog/cat-friendly. For the safety of myself, as well as the other pets in my care, I will not accept dogs that exhibit aggression and/or moderate to high levels of resource guarding. While I do not mind higher energy breeds, I have found dogs with very high energy levels who do not have a “chill switch” don’t do well in my home as it tends to put too much stress on my personal pets. Similarly, dogs with higher levels of separation anxiety are not the best fit in my home as well. Dogs that stay for boarding need to either be trustworthy when left alone in the house or crate trained (comfortable being in a crate for a few hours). I accept the following for an additional fee: •Puppies that are not yet fully potty trained •Adult dogs that struggle with frequent in-house accidents •Females in heat (must be cloth/pad trained) NOTE: all intact males will require a discounted trial stay for a few hours to ensure that excessive marking or mounting will not be an issue. ***To prevent accidents, I will not book stays for intact males & females at the same time even if they are from the same owner***
A typical day
In the warmer months, I like to jog or bike ride with the dogs. If your pup likes the car they are welcome to join me on car rides when I need to run quick errands. Not only do I have two dogs of my own that your pup can play with, but I frequently have other clients staying over as well. Regardless of which activity we chose, your dog won't be left bored.

Availability
Due to a recent layoff, I am currently home full-time. That means that when your pup stays with me they will spend very little time alone, get plenty of potty breaks, lots of play time, daily walks, and of course lots of attention.
