Best Dog Sitter in Ann Arbor
Pet care experience
I have been dog sitting for family and friends for the past 12 years. My services include: feeding, going for walks, playing tug, brushing hair, and giving baths. I am a mental health provider and work from home most days of the week. So your pet will not be alone for more than a few hours ever. I am trustworthy, competent, punctual, smart, and will take great care of your animals. I have grown up with two dogs in my house since I was a child. I have a 4.5-year-old golden retriever who loves all dogs and is extremely loving and submissive. I would love to dog-sit for you!
Reviews
I had a mixed experience with Steph as a dog sitter. Initially, we had a positive meet and greet at the dog park, but when we went to her apartment, my dog felt very anxious. Despite my concerns, Steph assured me that it would be okay due to the new environment. However, on the first day of dog sitting, she messaged me about my dog barking excessively and suggested giving him peanut butter and crating him, which didn’t sit well with me. Eventually, she concluded that the setup wouldn’t work and canceled the booking, leaving me in a difficult situation for the rest of the week. While I appreciate her attempt, I encourage her to be more transparent about her experience level and living conditions, especially if they may impact the dogs she can care for.
Steph (and her bf) were excellent dogsitters! Zelda loved both of them, their spacious home, and their sizable fenced-in yard (which I didn't see mentioned in Steph's ad but they definitely have a great one!). :) I received photos of Zelda looking adorable all weekend and even one of her wrapped in various pieces of clothing like a burrito. Highly recommend! I will definitely be contacting them again if I need someone to watch Zelda!
When we got our new puppy, we had several days and a few weekends that we couldn't be with him for a longer period of time. We hired Steph to come and stay with our little buddy. Not only was she so good with him, but she also worked with him on training at our request, she sent us regular pictures of him playing and having a good time and took him for regular walks. Every time he saw her, he got so excited, with his pitty-butt wiggling. I cannot recommend Steph highly enough. She is literally a dog-mom without a dog and just wants the opportunity to love your pup until she can get her own.
When I got called in to work at the last minute, Stephanie was there to watch my dog Yoda. She went above and beyond what most dog sitters would do. Yoda loves Steph and is always so sad whenever Steph leaves. She loves dogs and will take great care of your fur baby.

I live in an apartment complex but this complex has a dog park. I can take your dog in while no other dogs are there or when others are there depending on your comfort level. I have my own dog so I make sure I know dogs well before I let them engage with my dog or others.

Information Steph S. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog has anything they are afraid of trucks, other dogs, bikes. How they eat: grazer on food or eat all at once. And times when they are singling they need something.
A typical day
A typical day for my dog and yours if I watch them. Wake up and go for a half mile/mile walk and some time at the park for fetch. Then normally another mile walk at lunch with some play time. Then around 4, we do another half mile/mile walk and a final one around 8.
