Dog-loving family to serve your pet
Pet care experience
Our family looks forward to caring for your dogs and keeping them happy. I grew up with dogs of all sizes and my husband formerly trained dogs for basic obedience and agility. Our last six months in California, we joined Rover as sitters and LOVED the experience! The wonderful parade of dogs that stayed with us became like family; years later, my kids still talk about our Rover dogs. My current two Boxers are so excited to meet any new dog friends that it's hard to do boarding in our house but we would love to serve your pets in your home. We follow your instructions--every pet and family is different, and we work to follow your habits so that the dogs feel a sense of continuity. I send photos and updates daily so that you can see how your pet is doing. Since I will be visiting your home, please know that I have previously held Federal Government contractor clearance and stay current with my Scouting Youth Protection Training and Archdiocese of New Orleans Safe Environment training, all of which require background checks. While I grew up with dogs, the cats have been teaching us the ropes over the last couple of years. We have boarded cats that don't do well alone VERY carefully here at the house, with zero interaction with the dogs; we have also taken on drop in visits. Some cats are happy to see me and we visit as I work through the tasks and others are invisible. About this sitter: Mom to two dog-loving teenagers. Originally from New Orleans, we spent four years in California's Bay Area, sped through Atlanta briefly, and are thrilled to be back home. Originally worked as a Civil Engineer before we started moving around the country--at that point, we started homeschooling. Why I love dog sitting I'll start by saying my wedding gift to my husband was our Boxer, Ike, and he brought us joy for ten years. I grew up enjoying being around all dogs, especially St. Bernards--I had one that fancied himself a lap dog, so I learned to share my chair with a 165 lb dog. My husband fell in love with Boxers through friends of the family and enjoyed training all of their dogs, skills that he used beautifully with our own Boxers. One of my favorite pictures is of the dogs at the door, waiting to meet our daughter as we came home from the hospital with her--it was love at first sight. Those dogs gave my children a deep love for dogs of all kinds and they ask to meet every dog we see. Finding a new dog friend makes their day. About my yard We have a medium sized yard surrounded by a six-foot privacy fence. The yard has a well shaded patio. My experience administering medication Yes, I am comfortable administering oral or topical medication. If needles are involved, you'd have to teach us.
Reviews
We are always super pleased with the love and care Sandi and her family gives to our fur babies.
We trust Sandie and her entire family with our two dogs. We know they are loved on and well taken care of while we are out of town. We have such a peace of mind knowing they’re in the care of some wonderful people. We will continue using Sandie every time.
Sandy and her family have been the best for our dogs. We are so pleased with the care, attention, time and love Sandy and her family give. We are so happy to have a peace of mind knowing our dogs are being loved like we would love them when we have to be out of town.
Sandie was great, we will definitely call on her again when the need arises. She was professional, loving, kind, and dedicated to our pets.

Information Sandie C. would like to know about your pet
We enjoy all dogs that like being around people and playing with other dogs. Before your dog arrives, we'd like to know what he needs to feel secure, routines such as feeding or walking times, what frightens the dog so we can avoid it, is the dog kennel trained, and what equipment will be needed. We have stainless steel food and water bowls for all size dogs here. A bowl of water is always available. Water bowls are changed a couple of times a day to keep the water clean. We will follow your instructions for when food should be available and, if allowed, treats and toys.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We live in a neighborhood that is great for walking. For relaxed walks, we meander the surrounding cul de sacs. When a dog needs to burn energy, we head out for a mile or more. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Depending on how you describe your dog's habits, we can set up a bed in the most suitable room or, if the dog prefers their kennel, we can set that up in the den. Time I'll spend with your dog Our schedule has us out in the morning to drop the kids off at school (dogs that enjoy car rides are welcome to ride along), I'm home for most of the day, and then the kids arrive home at 3 and the evening activities start. On weekends, we are mostly around the house. So, most of every day someone will be here at the house with your dog.
