Pet care experience
Hello! I have 10 years of professional pet care experience, and 14 years of pet sitting experience. My career in animal welfare has provided me with every tool necessary to give your pet the best care possible. I have been professionally trained by the MSPCA’s Director of Behavior in positive reinforcement and clicker training. My career experience includes aiding in medical care, administering medications, supervising playgroups, implementing behavior plans, grooming and transporting dogs, participating in vaccination clinics, handling dogs for weddings/events.. the list goes on :). I am comfortable with dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. I am also comfortable and familiar with small animals such as rabbits, ferrets, and rodents. My specialties and preferences include puppy training, shy/nervous dogs, senior pets, and LONG walks with active dogs. My training style is gentle, patient, and reward based.
Reviews
Sam is great! Very energetic, attentive to details and most important- dog loved her!
I've had such anxiety thinking about letting a stranger come into my home and care for my puppy - thank God a friend recommended Sam. They came for a meet and greet, and listened attentively to what I was looking for regarding Al's care. I felt comfortable enough to book a drop in afterwards and, at this point, have had Sam come by a handful of times. They're great with Al, and with my adult dog who's sometimes home when I ask them to stop by. They've always be able to accommodate my requests, but the most important thing is that my boys are comfortable with them! They even go the extra mile helping to bring in my packages! They always update and send the cutest pics with the Rover card that let me relax knowing that my son is cared for. Highly recommend Sam if you need someone reliable!
This was our first time using a pet sitter and Sam set the bar high. We have two, 2-year old littermate pitbulls. Boy pup is 90 pounds, girl pup is 65 pounds. Both are high-energy, reactive dogs who love to play rough with each other. They need to be walked separately. They also have allergies and need to be fed medicine every day. In addition, one had surgery for elbow dysplasia, the other had surgery for an ACL tear, so they have to be carefully watched. None of this deterred Sam. We had a snow storm with 6 inches of snow - she took the dogs on long walks and she brought our packages in. The house was spotless when we came home. We will be using her again and are so appreciative that she took care of our pups.
Excellent. Sam was great and kept us informed on how the dogs were doing. We found our sitter!

Prior to the start of services, I am happy to meet in person at no cost to you in order to become familiar with each other, provide an initial introduction for your pet, go over instructions and exchange keys/necessary information. Safety is my top priority, and I am happy to work with you to determine the best care for your pet. Due to my experience, I have a wealth of knowledge in animal care and am highly accustomed to monitoring animals for signs of abnormalities. Attention to detail is my strong suit :)
Information Sam J. would like to know about your pet
Transparency from owners in regards to their pet’s behavior will allow me to provide the best possible care for them. I would love to know what most motivates your pet, as well as what makes them feel comfortable. Their daily feeding/pooping schedule and typical walking route are helpful notes for our time together. Any medications, dietary restrictions or requirements are helpful to know ahead of time.
A typical day
We can discuss what your pet prefers, as some are homebodies and others are explorers. I will adjust to each individual pet’s needs and comfortability. We can spend the day in your backyard, or take a trip to a nearby trail or park. I am very physically active and can provide long walks and plenty of exercise.

I am currently pet sitting full time, so I will have plenty of time to spend with your fur baby. I am happy to do what is most beneficial for them, whether that be hanging at home or exploring new places.
