My name is Roxann and I currently have no pets of my own but I did have my dog, Xena, for almost 17 long and happy years. She passed away a while back from old age and although I'm currently not ready to replace her, I would love to help other pet owners care for theirs while they are away. I work full time during the week but I would be fully available after 6pm and all day on the weekends and I work close enough to home that I can go home during my lunch hour and check on them. I live in a townhouse with a small fenced in backyard where the dogs can roam freely and safely when they need some fresh air and just want to play but I will also be taking them on walks and there is a nearby park within walking distance as well. I have no children as my dog was like my child and I can guarantee that your dog will be treated with all the love and respect that I gave to my own. I know how important it is to find the right sitter for your loved one as they are family as well and I also used Rover when I had my dog so I do know the feeling of uncertainty when leaving your loved one behind for a while but I can assure you that they will feel safe and enjoy their stay. About this sitter: I love dogs and I have been pet sitting for friends for a while before I joined this site and I love spending my free time helping others find a good home for their pets while they are away. My dog was my best friend and to me, all dogs are like family so you can feel well assured that your loved one will be in good hands. I grew up with my first dog, Bobo, until he passed away at the age of 12 years. As kids, we were responsible for walking him on a daily basis, more than once a day, and giving him baths and making sure all his needs were taken care of. I then got Xena for my birthday in 1996 and she lived until she was 17 years old, just recently passing away from old age. I took care of her on my own and she was always very happy and at times I did have to administer medication. I also had two other dogs during Xena's life, one passing away of cancer and the other one had started as a foster and had several health issues. I have also taken care of my brother in law's dog and for friends when I lived in Austin. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover all my life and I cared for my dog, Xena, for almost 17 years. I have had two other dogs within her life span and she just managed to outlive them. I had a dalmation that lived to the age of 8 years and passed away of cancer and a hound mix that lived until about 10 years. About my yard I have a small but spacious fenced in backyard. It's also shaded and the perfect place for when your pet needs to get some fresh air and outside play time. My experience administering medication I am comfortable administering medication. My dog lived until 17 years old and there were times I needed to administer pain medication for arthritis or any other ailments she had.
