Pet care experience
Animals are incredible creatures aren’t they?! They give us unconditional love and in return we treasure them. We feed, exercise, love and protect them. I am here for you and your fur baby when you need help. Other animals I’ll take care of are bunnies, chickens, reptiles, fish, hamsters, birds, ponies, etc. About me: I grew up on a farm in Wilsonville encircled by big dogs, cats, horses and horse 4H, goats, chickens, cattle, pigs, rabbit and white Chinese geese. I’ve boarded, groomed, exercised, rehabbed a many more through the years. Rover enables me to meet new animal pals and their humans in my Portland community. I love that about Rover. It’s said that loving on animals increases Oxytocin in the brain. Who doesn’t want more happiness? I have taken care of dogs and cats with medical issues. I have experience with diabetes, Cushing’s disease and cancer care, especially getting them to eat. In cats, I have experience with asthma and hyperthyroidism. I like to examine furry friends while I’m petting them. Skin abnormalities, cuts, fleas, pain, etc. to keep owners aware of little issues I find. I am a strong dog walker in all kinds weather. I’d like your dog to have a harness and rain coat. I’m concerned about collapsed tracheas so I prefer not to collar walk. For pet drop-ins, I can do whatever you’d like. Feed, spend time with enrichment activities or just love on them. Randomly, I love to clean. Rover does not have that option. LOL. I do like to have your furry friends easily reachable and cordoned in their favorite part of the house. For timid cats, I’ve found if they have special wet food or treat, I can use it as a way to draw them near. If they like brushing, I have my cats favorite that is rubber and shaped like a kitty. I have reactive dog training, puppy training and crate training. I can administer most medications. I prefer not to give cats pills directly as I was severely bitten while volunteering at Portland Animal Services. I developed compartment syndrome and was hospitalized for 5 days. Great fun!!! There are many medicines that can be compounded into a lotion that is dosed and applied to the soft part of the inner ear.
Reviews
Robin is absolutely amazing
We booked Robin again because of all of the sitters we’ve had she puts in the most care into what she does. We get regular updates without having to ask and come home to a cat and home that were cared for as if they were her own. She’s always gone over and beyond for us so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to a friend or family member. If you’re looking for peace of mind - book Robin.
Robin is the BEST! Takes amazing care of our high needs pups - spends quality time with them and goes above and beyond in our home! She sends cute pics and gives us a detailed rundown of her time with them. There is no one we trust more! Thank you Robin! 🩷 Whitney, Kate, Duncan, Frankie & Roux
Robin went above and beyond to help me with my fearful, reactive, and highly anxious dog. I just moved to the area and needed a day to go get my belongings. I booked a boarding facility, but at the last minute they told me my dog didn’t have the right vaccines. Robin stepped up on short notice, rearranged plans, and stayed with my poor nervous dog for over 24 hours in an almost empty house. My moving truck got mixed up, delaying me a few extra hours, but Robin kept me in the loop on how my dog was doing with regular pics and updates. It was a huge relief knowing he was ok while I dealt with a stressful situation. When I finally made it home, my dog was in a great mood and my house and yard were both cleaner than I’d left them! Before the sit, Robin asked plenty of thoughtful questions about my dog’s needs, and she patiently got to know him and how to best set him up for success. I don’t know how I could have gotten through this difficult situation without her help, and I’m glad I didn’t have to find out! I would happily book Robin again and I highly recommend her services.

Safety, trust & environment
I am hyper vigilant about animal safety. Primarily escaping out a door or out of a harness while walking. I keep an eye out for them picking up and eating anything while we’re walking or I’m house sitting. I’ve lived on Willamette Blvd for 23 years and have seen too many dogs running loose. I help contain the dog and hold it until I find the owner. Losing one of my dogs is one of my biggest fears. I would be wrecked. I’m blocks from McKenna Park and University of Portland. Down over the bluff is a great place to walk as there are few cars. I will walk your dog wherever you like, however you like and whenever you like. I’m also really sensitive to rescue dogs and the mental trauma they’ve been through. Every dog is unique just as humans are. I tailor my initial approach and ongoing relationship with where they’re at. Lastly, Covid has had a huge effect on animal and human behavior. Separation anxiety is at it’s highest right now. I’m willing to collaborate with owners as to socializing their animal. This goes for prey animals too like bunnies. Through multiple visits I can build rapport that respects the animal’s nature.

Information Robin P. would like to know about your pet
Before I take you fur baby for a walk or check-in, I like to know about their behaviors around other dogs, people and squirrels. Lol. Do you walk him/her a certain way on a certain route? Which side of you does he/she was if you usually lead walk? Would you like me to do anything specific regarding treats or training? For drop ins, with cats especially, when I enter your house, I will enter very calmly and peacefully. If you’re a new client, I’d like to swing by your house first for a visit. If I’m caring for your cat or any other furry animal, I first and foremost want them to feel safe. If I come for drop-ins for your kitties and they are shy, I’ll have my little yarn ball and laser light and softly build their trust. Let me know any idiosyncrasies and how you’d like me to handle them.
A typical day
A typical day? I don’t think there is such a thing. LOL. In general, waking when either the dogs do, sometimes at 5am, or the cats, whenever. Feeding breakfast at the appropriate time, in the appropriate way. Whatever your instruction sheet says, I’ll do. Then outside into our huge, fenced backyard for potty and poo. Then laying in the sunrise on our east facing porch while I have my morning coffee. Scratching and petting. Maybe hugging and face licking. Lots of smelling of my clothes and other animals of the day. Walking on sidewalks and trails. Stops for smelling the roses or whatever smells interesting. I walk about 1 mile in 30 minutes. Play in house or back yard. Potty, Poo, Potty, Poo. Feeding and treating. Trick practicing. Medication administration. Singing. Crinkling paper. Napping and sleeping. Potty Poo Potty Poo. DOG HISTORY: Please tell me everything you know about your dog’s past life. Past trauma, resulting side effects, qwirks and issues. Temperament, reactive triggers, activities pet enjoys. I am interested in knowing precisely what your expectations are and I’ll follow them.

My schedule is VERY open. I own an event business with my husband that Covid has decimated. We are still in a holding pattern until corporate legal departments let companies have events again. I’m ready to help you with your pets. I promise to give them all the love and safety they need while you’re away or I’m walking or dropping in on them while you’re busy working or out and about.
