Hubbell and Rene's Crib
Pet care experience
Privately gated craftsman home with killer porch to kick back and stare at the sky or just take a nap. Large yard to run and play with a playful and easygoing Golden Retiever (and his daddy). We are pretty active . We go for walks in the neighborhood or hikes up Runyon. On the 4 to 5 days I work from home, I take frequent breaks and often spend my free time interacting with my dog to keep him active and occupied. . If it is too hot outside, we are chilling indoors with central air conditioning. For overnight stays, previous dogs have slept in the living room, hallway, or my large size bedroom (which opens to a rear deck and large backyard for early morning bathroom breaks).

If I could give Rene negative stars, I would. If your dog likes to play, I recommend you find another sitter. Rene apparently only likes dogs that breathe and do nothing else. Prior to dropping off my dog, I explained to Rene that my 1.5 year old Labrador retriever is very energetic and loves to play. Despite him telling me this would be fine because he has a young golden retriever who would love to play with my dog, he cancelled my stay while I was already out of town because my puppy was "too energetic" and he "didn't have time to take care of him". When I called Rene to figure out what the issue was, he was very aggressive and threatened to call the humane society (why??), told me I did not deserve to own a dog, and repeatedly cursed at me. I asked Rene to let my dog get used to his new environment and give him some time to relax. That's when Rene moved to his next excuse: my dog isn't neutered. Despite the fact that this was never addressed during our 10 minute phone call before the stay was booked or during our texts, it was now an issue (despite the fact that Rene was not hosting any other dogs and his dog is a male). Rene insisted that it was my fault that he couldn't host my dog because his profile says he prefers spayed and neutered dogs. If you are familiar with Rover, you know that there is an option for sitters to host "neutered dogs only" versus "prefers neutered dogs". Rene's profile only says "prefers neutered dogs". Given Rene's hostility, I chose to contact Rover customer support to find a new sitter for my dog. Rover's customer support contacted Rene to let him know that we were trying to find a new sitter. Rene then decided to call me 3 times. When I answered, he cursed at me again and again told me that he was going to call the LA county and the humane society. Why? I'm not sure. Rene is neurotic and not suited to host any animal and I highly recommend you find another sitter to watch your pup so that you and your dog don't have to go through what my dog and I did.
