Led ‘em all, big to small

Pet care experience

I have had critters my whole life. From hermit crabs and gekos to all sorts of livestock I have raised and cared for a multitude of species. I have many animals who require what is considered ‘advanced’ animal care. I adopted my dog from a humane society and she came to me severely under-socialized and anxious, I worked with an amazing trainer who taught me so much about dogs! Since then I have fostered the “problem children” for humane societies near me. I have had medical cases, know how to give medications, special diets, behavioral issues, and more. I have taken care of dogs of all sizes, from a chihuahua jack russel mix to a 150 lbs massif. I also have experience with cats! My family adopted a senior cat who needed a lot of medical care as she aged. After her passing my family adopted a 6 month old cat who has now been with us for two years. Along with house sitting for people with indoor cats I also have pet-sat barn cats. I have a ton of experience with animals and would love to tell you more!

Reegan was wonderful! She is caring, competent, and very easy to work with. She came over for two meet and greets when I adopted another kitty at the “last minute.” She stayed and played with them; was able to give Mr Cat his shots; left the house in good condition. I’ll use her again in a nanosecond.

Greetings, I can strongly recommend Reegan Jenkins for a position on your team. She was a member of the Kalama FFA for 5 years, was instrumental in the creation and chartering of the that chapter and served as both chapter and district president during her time with me. I have seen her interact positively with both human and animal clients with kindness, patience and professionalism both a student and an adult. She is a focused worker when it comes to handling any situation in her environment. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions regarding Reegan as a candidate. Cordially, Dale Groff

Routine is so important for animals! I am pretty religious when it comes to animal’s routines. It is important to me that as the new person to your critter we both are safe and happy. Making sure I follow the guidelines and rules of the owner is top priority (ex: only letting animal roam in a fenced area, crating at night, certain foods allowed, not allowed on furniture, etc). But also respecting the animal’s boundaries is just as important. Cat doesn’t want to cuddle with me? No worries, we can sit on opposite sides of the couch. You dog wants to play by themselves? I will enjoy watching them, but I don’t need to insert myself into their play time. Animals tell you what the do and do not need, I pride myself on knowing how to listen to them!

Information Reegan J. would like to know about your pet

Besides their care information I like to know what dogs “big no’s” are. For example, my dog hates going to new places so a big no for her would be to leave the farm (where she lives). I also think it’s important to know what a dog’s favorite things are, if they have a favorite toy, treat, daily activity to do, anything that will make the new person, aka me, more appealing.

A typical day

My dogs are cattle dogs who require a lot of mental and physical stimulation. Depending on what your dogs like I would love to play “find it”, wait and come games, puzzle games, etc. If your dog prefers to go places there are so many amazing places to go in the area! A nature walk, hike, or just a walk around the neighborhood is a great way to get your dog out. I have been told that when dogs sniff bushes which on walks is their equivalent to us watching tv. So I would love to take your dogs to “watch tv” wherever to there favorite place is ◡̈
