Your pets home away from home.

Pet care experience

I have been pet sitting for over 8 years for friends, family, neighbors and friends of friends. I have a great affection for animals and enjoy caring for them. I started dog sitting for family and friends in their homes years ago, and recently begun sitting in our home. I have had dogs all of my life, and my wife and I have taken in many other types of shelter pets over the years. We have loved them all, from the rescued lab rat to the wild turkey. I understand how difficult it is to leave your pets, and enjoy providing owners with the peace of mind that comes with knowing you have a true animal lover caring for your pet. I provide drop in or stay over service and will care for your pet with the same love and affection as I do my own. Walks, fur brushing and tooth brushing are included in my rate. My work schedule is flexible, so I have the flexibility needed to provide the best care. My schedule and true love of animals have made pet sitting a wonderful second career for me. I will also water plants, bring in mail, and rotate lights at no additional charge for in home stays. Your pets and house are in the best possible care with me. Why I love dog sitting All my life, however, I have had at least one rescue continuously for the last 20 years. I seem to have a special gift for transforming scared, shy, timid dogs and cats into secure, happy, healthy animals. We have also fostered dogs needing special preparation before being adopted. I understand how difficult and stressful it can be to find a place an owner and dog and feel comfortable with, and I enjoy being able to provide that. About my yard We have a side yard/pen, a grass area, a slopped hill with a path along the top and up and down both sides for play. We have a deck towards the back half of the yard where the dogs can play and where baths occur. Both sides of our yard are double gated for added protection. Experience administering medication? Yes.

Can't say enough about how happy we are with Philip and Julie! They had our very large dog for a few days and he had a blast. Great communication, photo and text updates during our trip. It was such a relief knowing he was with Philip and Julie!

Louie was well taken care of and had a great time. We know this because, although happy to see us, the next day he was definitely missing his buddies and the general fun of having playmates around him 24/7. It was kinda obvious. Philip communicated with us promptly, was flexible, and accommodating. He sent pictures and gave us updates which were much appreciated. Definitely a great experience for Louie and us.

As part of our puppy's socialization, we feel it is important for her to stay at a pet sitter's on occasion so that when we need a pet sitter in the future, she will not find it scary or unnerving. Our 5 month old puppy, Dessa, stayed with Phillip & Julie for an entire day yesertday and I could not be more pleased. Dessa is a Hovawart and can be quite a handful. She is great wioth people and other dogs, but I was worried she might chew up their house or annoy the dogs. She did really well with Phil & Julie's 3 dogs and had a blast! I am so happy to have found a reliable pet sitter in the area. I highly recommend this pet sitter for your beloved dogs. Dessa will be back periodically to continue socializing with the dogs, Phil, and Julie., Thanks for taking such great care of our little one!

Information Philip H. would like to know about your pet

I generally ask the owner to provide personality details, health issues, feeding habits and any medications required. It's great to know what your pet does at home - where do they sleep, what is their favorite toy, does anything bother them, do they have any aggression or fear issues. All of these details are important for your pet to feel happy and secure while in our home.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We have a local park, trails, and a local dog park. I like to ask the owner what their preference is. We only go to the off leash park if that is requested by the owner. Our standard walk route is along the local park, through the neighborhood and along the trails. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Wherever you like. We have all types of requests, anything from in the guest room in a crate, to on our bed or couch. If no specific requests are made, we tend to let the dogs pick their sleeping spots. Time I'll spend with your dog I have a flexible work schedule allowing me to be home for the majority of their stay. When home we typically break for play every two hours. I do not allow dogs to play in the yard unattended. When working from home I will work from the patio while they free play indoors and out. Walks are done based on your pets needs and visiting pets are generally walked privately not as a group walk.
