Pet care experience
I've been around dogs, especially large dogs (Newfoundlands, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Mixbreeds) all my life, and started watching friends', neighbors', and colleagues' dogs while earning my B.A. several years ago. I specialized, then and now, in "problem dogs," usually rescues who needed special care because of past traumas, reactivity, or health issues. I also love taking care of cats, and have some experience with caring for rabbits, ferrets, rats, and hamsters, though unfortunately not reptiles or birds. Note: The majority of my clients in the past were elderly, and used my services some years ago - this is why I have few testimonials at the moment.
Reviews
Patience was great, super communicative and responsible. My dogs had a great time, I highly recommend their dog sitting services!
Patience was wonderful with my dog Jojo who was recovering from a bear encounter. She is a delightful young woman, confident and capable.
Patience was such a fabulous sitter for Luka and Onyx. Luka, our 2yo pup, has some deeply rooted fear-of-stranger issues, Patience handled him so well. We felt very reassured leaving our fur babies for the weekend, and Luka was SO mellow upon our return. Truly phenomenal care!

While I unfortunately can't take your pets home with me, I am more than happy to take them on park adventures outside of town, in town, or, if you prefer, walks around their own neighborhood. If you have a fenced-in yard or run, I can exercise your dog there, or take them for leashed walks elsewhere; I do not walk dogs off-leash outside of fenced-in yards. I also exercise cats by owner preference, but am more comfortable caring for cats I don't know well indoors. I can't wait to meet your pets!
Information Patience C. would like to know about your pet
The most important things to know about a dog, for me, are their healthcare needs and their reactivity triggers (if any). I have happily worked with dogs who snapped if a person stood up too fast in front of them, needed medication mixed and administered multiple times per day, could not be around other dogs or people, and who could not be left alone at all for any amount of time. I will gladly take care of dogs with any behavior problems or health problems, so long as you let me know what to expect.
A typical day
Depending on a dog's energy level and owner's preference, I like to take dogs for morning walks, play games with them indoors when the weather is too hot or too rainy in the afternoon, and give them a good run in the evening, if possible, so they sleep well. I find cats to have more variable schedules, so the first step for them is figuring out when they want to play, and when they want to nap, and planning accordingly.

Availability
While I do work part time from home, I can take my work along, or leave it home for a few days if your pets require more focus. I am most often available during the summers. I can stay 24/7 with your pets for 1-3 days, or, if they are crate-trained or can be left for short periods, can watch them with one or two short breaks per day for a few weeks at a time.
