I know what your dog is telling you
Pet care experience
I have always loved animals of all kinds. Ever since I was a child, I've always wanted to learn more about animals and how I can help them. From a young age, I have devoted my life to animals. Although a dog bit me as a toddler, I have never been afraid of canines or any animals. If anything, it made me want to help misunderstood animals like the one who bit me. Every animal deserves a second chance, and every animal can be saved. Throughout my life, every choice I have made educationally, experientially, and occupationally has been to further my skills and knowledge of animals. Through my years of working with animals (5-6 years), I have learned a great deal about animal behavior, care, first aid, and biology. In my practices, I try to be the least anthropomorphic as possible because I know that different animals view the world differently from each other and from my own species. I have taken many classes on animal behavior as well as had many experiences in studying and training animal behavior. At the beginning of my animal career, I volunteered for two years at the Adams County Animal Shelter where I trained and walked dogs of all kinds. Between the years 2014 and 2015, I had a few different experiences in training animals, grooming animals, and animal first aid. Through these experiences, I learned to work in a bunch of different settings and practiced my skills of animal care. Staring July 2015 to current day, I have been a Kennel Technician at two boarding facilities where I was responsible at sometimes for over 70 animals. In these jobs, I learned a lot about time management, training of employees, customer service and communication, as well as furthered my training skills. In my free time, I enjoy taking care of my animals. At home, I have two Siberian Huskies and three cats that I take care of everyday. They are my life and I love spending time with them. I also love to stay involved in animal welfare and rights. I have signed conservation petitions, animal rights petitions, as well as presented many projects about animals and their protection. I even based a collection of my own paintings on wolf conservation issues to sell and to educate the public. I sold all of those paintings raising $1,200 in donation money for the sanctuary, Mission: Wolf. Currently I work at a dog boarding facility and am a full time student but in my free time I want to take care of your dogs!
