Pet care experience
I have access to two yards with plenty of play space. My area is private and out of sight. I live in Ukrainian village. The neighborhood is relatively quiet with low-traffic. It hosts historic homes with lots of scenery, and a lovely mixture of grassy lawns and tall trees. There is a strong dog community in the area: lots of pet-friendly parks, restaurants, and stores. The neighbors are familiar with the presence of dogs and respect exclusivity as well as mingling pups. *Special needs I do have experience with special needs ranging from separation anxiety to social aggression. I’ve also cared for senior dogs. I have experience administering oral medication. I'd love to care for any pup that needs that extra care and attention. Please let me know what I can do to help. I like to take that extra step to ensure they're having a great stay. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ *Staying in touch I do provide check-ins, usually 3x a day. I love sending updates including photos & videos about how their time is going. There is no such thing as ‘too many’ pictures. Let me know what you’d like to know for progress. If you prefer an update every other day or 3-4 times a day, both work great. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ *What can I do? From past boarding opportunities, I've taken pups out on extra walks during the day, brushed/bathed them, spent time relaxing/playing in my backyard space, or got their mind working while playing puzzling indoor games. Keeping a dog active in mind and in motion is crucial. I want to make their stay special; if you like to have them groomed before heading home, or providing a summary video/note from their stay with me it's no problem at all. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ *My daily schedule I do have flexibility with my schedule. I'm usually out of the house for roughly 6-8 ... Although, I can make arrangements with early enough notice to best be there for your pup. No worries! I'll make sure that they're happy and comfy :) My roomate and I have alternating schedules. Your pup would not be alone for more than 2-3 hours at a time. Nicolette took care of our new puppy for 5 nights in her home. It was the first time we'd left her AND she had an allergy issue so she was on meds. We were super nervous, to say the least, but Nicolette was amazing throughout - from our first interaction, to planning around a meet and greet to helping us figure out how to get our puppy there when the temps plummeted and it was too cold to walk. It's clear that she does this a lot, she loves dogs and she has set up her home to make it a great boarding spot. She sent pics, videos and updates every day and was super sweet and understanding when bad weather at ORD delayed us and created a very very late pickup. We would 100% recommend Nicolette and will use her again (if she'll have us).
Nicolette is nothing short of fabulous! We've used her several times and the last time was somewhat short notice. She continues to handle herself very professionally. Our pup is very comfortable with staying with her. We never have an ounce of guilt tripping off our little girl because we know she is in great hands!

Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? I don’t own any pets. The meet-and-greet is meeting me! I like to schedule this in my home giving the pups an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the area. They’ll get the chance to check the place out with their best friend. Also, you can see where they’ll be playing and eating for their stay. If you are on a crunch for time or rather opt out of out of scheduling a meet-and-greet, let me know. I don’t mind finding alternatives. -- Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule? Daily meals, walks, naps, etc... What’s the best way to spoil your pup? Favorite treats/toys, where they love to sleep, favorite belly rub spots?
A typical day
Where ever I am, so is your pup. A lot of our time will be spent outdoors in the yard, strolling through the neighborhood, or at one of the 3-4 nearby dog parks. If you'd rather have your pup on the independent side with longer walks and playing in the backyard space, that's just as fun; we'll have lots of options for games and ways to release some energy. There are a lot of pet owners who live in the area. There are small time frames during the day that many owners walk their dogs. If you'd like your pup to see/sniff some new faces, I'll make sure they get a good walk in near those times. On the other hand, we can also head out during the calmer times of the day. For those pups, we can focus on the walk and take our time venturing onto grassy lawns. Whether we are inside or outside, I keep those doggo minds thinking. Exploring new sights/smells, playing complex games, and practicing commands (the one's you've trained them with).
