Pet care experience
I'm a PhD candidate with a very flexible schedule and love of dogs! I currently have three Maltese, Chardonnay (13), Finn (5), and Wes (5), who would love to share their Barkbox toys and treats with your dog(s)! I'm able to watch your dog(s) in your home (so long as it is cat-free and T accessible) or mine--whichever is the best solution for you and your canine buddy! Please know that if I come to your home I will not be bringing my three dogs; they'll be home with my husband. If you choose to have me sit for your dog in my condo, my husband will also be around and likely lend a hand, although I'm the primary care provider. I've been watching my friends' dogs for several years and have even done some fostering! I thought this would be a great chance to bring in some extra money while in grad school! Why I love dog sitting Both of my parents bred and trained dogs (Maltese and English Setters) for extra income in rural, upstate NY. Needless to say, as soon as I had an off-campus apartment in undergrad, I had to have a dog of my own. I've been a dog owner since 1998 and had three dogs for the past four years. (And this is where I admit to having adopted dogs that I have fostered...) I've dog sat for traveling friends and neighbors for several years. About my yard We have a *tiny* back yard (no fence) that I don't use. My experience administering medication Indeed I am! My first dog, Daphne, suffered from heart failure, so I administered meds for several years; Chardonnay (12) takes meds for arthritis.

Nicole was great. She was super quick to back to any emails while setting up the stay and sent a couple of pictures of our dog to us while we were away. We'll be sure to use her again.

Before sitting for your dog, I'd want to be familiar with his or her routine, so that I can best accommodate your furry friend! I'd like details around feeding, treats, walks, sleeping habits, medicine, etc. Also, are their rules your pooch should be following (around being on the furniture, etc.)? I don't have breed preferences! If you would like your dog to stay in my home, I would prefer small or medium breeds. If you would like me to dog sit in your home, I am also willing to care for larger breeds.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks I will likely do whatever your dog is used to! For larger dogs, I have walked them around the base of Jones Hill or even to Malibu Beach in Savin Hill. For small dogs, like my own, we often just go around a block or two. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Likely on his or her bed in my bedroom. If your dog has other preferences, I can accommodate that, too! Time I'll spend with your dog Whatever your dog needs! I'm writing a dissertation and can read and write around your dog's schedule.
