All Dogs Welcome!

Pet care experience

I grew up in Jamestown, RI and have lived here my whole life among dogs and cats of all breeds. Recently I graduated from University of Vermont and have returned to Rhode Island, living in Jamestown with three dog friendly cats and a mutt puppy named Lottie who is always by my side. I have a flexible schedule and am comfortable with animals of all sizes and breeds. My animals are very friendly with others as long as they are not very aggressive. My fenced in yard and quiet neighborhood offer a perfect oasis when you are away, ensuring they get the best care possible. I am comfortable with extensive stays at someone else's home considering distance to other obligations. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog owner and lover my entire life, occasionally caring for the dogs of family friends until recently where I've begun searching for more opportunities through my love with animals. I grew up with a wonderful mutt named Wanda who starred in a local theatre production of Oliver, overcame a freak accident which took an eye, and was known for her elaborate escape artist tactics that brought the dog catcher upon her many times over her glorious sixteen years. The dog I had known best as a young critical thinker, was my beloved Libby a sweetheart yellow Labrador that failed to become a seeing eye dog due to being too timid. She loved to play fetch and was almost impossible to keep her dry near water. She slowed down in her later years due to a leg injury but she was always a happy fixture near the fireplace and made sure the kitchen floor was spotless of crumbs. In present day I have a new puppy named Lottie, who came to us all the way from Arkansas where her and three siblings where left in a box outside a rescue. We aren't sure what she is but she loves other animals, loves to snuggle, and is always willing to play tug of war. Meet my pets I have three cats aged 12, 8, and 6. All of whom are friendly with dogs unless provoked, and will usually stay to themselves. About my yard I have a newly fenced in yard situated directly behind my house. This has aground level access gate for any handicapped or elderly pets as well as a second story deck with a staircase for most dogs to quickly use the yard. The amount of space is not gigantic but is sufficient enough for a dog to play in and relieve themselves. The area is cleaned daily. My experience administering medication I am comfortable administering most medication.

Nate has been taking Leila many times since when we got her last year. He's flexible, been great with last minute requests too and very helpful. Leila seems to be happy, she's pretty tired when she comes home. Thanks Nate!

Felt very comfortable leaving my fur baby with Nathaniel, especially when I received pictures of the dog happily lounging on the couch. =)

Information Nathaniel H. would like to know about your pet

Though I have no breed preferences, aggressive animals particularly against cats or smaller creatures are unwelcome. Big or small I'm willing to work with any dog, before I meet them though I would like to know- 1. Diet 2. Medication 3. Previous major injuries 4. Behavior around other animals and children 5. Everyday schedule (walks, feeding, etc.) 6. Level of activity 7. Other useful knowledge, especially barking patterns

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Walks will be based upon the owners preferences for the animal to travel. The local neighborhood is quiet and has very little traffic except for residents across sprawling wide back roads close to a local beach. If travel is permitted I often take my dog and any other guests to one of several local town parks with extensive trails and areas for dogs to run off leash. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog will sleep in an area that is most comfortable to the owners training practices. Dogs that are generally clean are welcome to sleep on the bed or couches, there are multiple dog beds and blankets throughout the house as well as multiple carpeted areas. Time I'll spend with your dog I plan on spending as much time as I can with your dog each day. Due to some days being rather busy and multiple commitments the guaranteed minimum of service is several check ins through out the day, on time feedings, multiple walks, and an extended session of attention to your individual pet one on one whether it be play time or grooming.
