WFH Dog FirstAid/CPR Certified 🐕💕

Pet care experience

Come on over to the Boarding Adventure at The Pet Chalet! 🐕💕 One day my big dog Sandro got spooked and dragged me all across the sidewalk when I was four years old. When I got home my mom asked me “why didn’t you let him go?”, I said “I wanted to protect him, and I didn’t want him to go and get lost”. From that moment I knew animals had a sensitive soul and I felt a deep call to care for them and protect them. From rescuing baby birds, parakeets, chickens, lizards, dogs and cats back home in Puerto Rico, today I am one of the biggest advocates of animal life you’ll ever meet. I started my paid pet sitting experience back in 2011 when the pet-care dot com boom began while I was living in Texas. Now almost 12 years later at the other side of the country my love for animals continues to reflect in everything I do including eating preferences, lifestyle and business. ● A little bit about me: I am an advocate of animals and the ecosystem, a protector of children and the most vulnerable, a proponent of mental and emotional healing and a supporter of spiritual and physical wellbeing Certified Global Business Professional with a Master’s degree and several academic professional credentials. Over the last 10 years I have been creating my proprietary conscientious marketing and business framework services for musicians, fitness, apparel and beauty entrepreneurs. Also, I am an ISSA Certified Master Personal Trainer with eight specializations and Yoga instructor. My overall purpose is to inspire people to develop higher levels of consciousness about the human and animal experience, in order to create impact and contribution so that together we can elevate the planet. Being an international touring dancer for various Puerto Rican folklore ballets for over 26+ years in tours organized by The International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF) and The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has given me a deep understanding of universal love for animals and a new perspective for compassionate care. But it also limits me from having my own pets. This is what brings me here and I can’t wait to spend time with your pet, connect with him deeply and shower him with tons of warm love and compassionate care from the heart of a soul who really loves and cares for animals and pets. ● Dog breeds experience: Here are some of the dog breeds I have experience working with. Some of the most common request I get are for dogs with high-energy levels, rescued dogs, dogs with separation anxiety (please read my Schedule section to make sure I can meet your needs), or dogs who need a lot of human closeness, attention and affection while parents are away. My experience with special needs includes doggies with hearing impairment, vision impairment, digestive issues, dogs with oral or topical medication administration, or special assistance for walking, stairs or elimination (please read my Friendly Boarding Checklist in the Important to know about your pet section). - Boxer - Shih Tzu - Cockapoo - Pomeranian - Saint Bernard - French Bulldog - Coton de Tulear - Yorkshire Terrier - Australian Cattle - German Shepard - Golden Retriever - Labrador Retriever - Jack Russell Terrier - American Pit Bull Terrier - Pit Bull Mix - Great Dane Mix - Chihuahua Mutt Mix - Chihuahua and Shih Tzu Mix - Alaskan Husky and Terrier Mix - German Shepard and Pit Bull Mix - Maltese and Miniature Poodle Mix - Golden Doodle and Bichon Frisé Mix - Chow Chow and German Shepherd Mix - Chihuahua, Poodle, and Yorkshire Terrier Mix - German Shepherd Dog and Golden Retriever Mix - Other Mixed

Mia is fantastic. She is very considerate, accommodating as well as incredibly responsive and communicative. She promised that I would feel as if I were right by my dog while I was gone and she certainly delivered! She makes sure to give your furry friend the love and attention they need and I wouldn’t ask any other to look after Duchess.

We love Mia... she is the sweetest person so communicative and caring and flexible. Thank you for taking care of our little elderly dog, who is a handful.

Safety, trust & environment

● Pet safety and environment: Each boarding takes place in my home where pets are protected indoors. I live in a beautiful bohemian townhouse which I deep clean and sanitize at the end of each pet stay. The pictures in my gallery are taken in my home or my surrounding neighborhood which will provide you with a 360* overview of the space both during the day and night. ● Potty breaks and fun: Your pet enjoys fun potty breaks every 4-8 hours depending on your pet’s schedule. We do walks always on a leach in the urbanization side of our beautiful Mar Vista neighborhood which is full of friendly families and children who also have their own pets. As a dancer and personal trainer, I am very much into walking, running, movement and physical exercise. Activities such as catching ball, playing with pet toys, and also recovery time are part of a routine with a four-legged pet depending on the dog's levels of energy, interests and motivations. ● Food and digestion: The only food I give to your pet is the one provided by the pet parent to ensure their well-being and compliance with any nutrition guidelines. I also keep an eye on eating patterns, poop frequency and appearance to monitor the pet’s inner health during their stay. I take good care of your pet’s props and handle very responsibly all the food supplied in order to minimize waste. You get to live the entire Adventure at The Pet Chalet all throughout their stay through all the pictures and videos I send on a daily basis of our fun activities, walks, playtime and time together (and of course, the occasional surprise photoshoot or dog training session!). Also, I try to take only 1 client at a time for the safety of your pet and so I can provide my undivided attention, care and love, and bond deeply with your little one. Keep in mind overlaps do occur, meaning one dog could arrive while the other one is still awaiting his pickup. There is very little that can be done about it due to the varying traveling schedules of pet parents. I do however, have the equipment, tools and resources to keep dogs safe and separated if it were necessary. Remember, my goal number one is always safety. ● Additional Pet Safety: I am Cat & Dog First Aid/CPR Certified by the American Red Cross, trained in the basics to deliver first aid care and how to give care for common emergency situations by understanding your pet's vital signs, breathing and cardiac emergencies, wounds, bleeding and seizures. And equipped to provide provide preventative care and a healthy lifestyle for pets. Additionally, as a Certified Personal Trainer I am required to maintain a valid ISSA CPR & AED Certification. I am fully vaccinated and also passed the Enhanced (Federal/National) background check and approval process for this app. ● Safety Qualifications: - Cat & Dog First Aid/CPR Certification - ISSA CPR/AED Certification - Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccine (+Booster) - Enhanced (Federal/National) Background Check - Rover 101 Training Pet Care Best Practices - BA & MS Degree (+ other academic credentials) ● Important note: For safety reasons, I only provide M&Gs to already Booked Confirmed Boardings. This also to protect both's time on shopping time, which is the reason why I provide such in depth information about myself in this profile so it serves for your peace of mind. Also, I do not provide "trials" of any kind. Please know your dog is in great hands and is taken care by a trained experienced professional.

Information Mia A I. would like to know about your pet

My goal as a sitter is to give your pet the same experience he gets at home, or one that's even better! I try to match the pet’s routine, from potty breaks, feeding times and medications to the methods you use to reward or correct behavior, or if your pet has any special needs or behaviors that I can account for. Before the stay, please verify that the pet’s care instructions are updated with: 1) Current vet information. 2) An emergency contact who can make decisions while you are away. 3) Feeding instructions, bathroom routine and exercise schedule. Then I'll throw in some extra fun to make the stay memorable for both your pet and yourself. ● Friendly Boarding Checklist: Here is a friendly checklist of Frequently Asked items by pet parents. The goal is that your doggy feels as familiar and at home as possible during the boarding. 1) Food [dry/fresh] (and measuring cups/utensils used to serve the food). 2) Bowls (both food and water dish). 3) Treats (if you give any during the day). 4) Toys (that fave ripped toy he just can't leave). 5) Poop Bags (most dogs go 2-3 times per day). 6) Blanket (that fave blankie he can't be away from). 7) Bedding (any favorite sleeping place he loves). 8) Crate (if applicable, some doggies feel safe in it). 9) Medications (if applicable). 10) Extras (leash, pads, wipes, raincoat, warmer, muzzle, brush, etc). 11) Cleaning products (when applicable). ● Important note on house training: I am only taking house trained doggies or dogs over 1 year old at this time. If you know your doggy can be tempted to mark territory inside (which is very normal) please bring your cleaning products for his boarding. I may need to pass along any bills I incur while boarding. I understand accidents happen, that's very normal, and also understand please I have a responsibility with the wellbeing of my own home. Rover doesn't provide any protection on property damage on sitters premises. As a taxpayer, I need to issue terms for the healthy operation of my small business. Thank you! Let’s chat more over message then we’ll take it from there with the next logical steps! Otherwise, please do not hesitate in making your boarding request. I promise you and your furry treasure are going to love the Boarding Adventure at The Pet Chalet! I look forward to meeting you and your pet soon! Much love, Mia

A typical day

A typical day at The Pet Chalet in the Thriving Center (as I call my home!) starts with our little rock stars getting acquainted with a warm welcoming home, exploring and figuring out the space, and getting tons of belly rubs of course so we can get familiarized. Once settled, they begin testing around all the possible cushion spots, for sure wonder around through the glass doors, and possibly get some fresh air in my “porchony”. Usually, they find their favorite spot in either my cozy chalet bedroom (there's something about my room they love) or at the top of the staircase (until they try my bed and then never want to leave :)). Our mornings begin with our Morning Walk Adventure where we explore our beautiful Mar Vista neighborhood to the fullest. During our Potty Breaks Fun throughout the day we hangout in our beautiful front yard or around the block where we usually make some new furry friends and wave hello! During the day they find their way to my desk where they climb to reach for some cuddles, look up what’s going on in the screen or just to take a nap on top of my computer (aah… the tough part of being a pet). By night time we are already inseparable and at bedtime they never want to leave my side for warm cuddles and loving tickles which they can never get enough asking for more. ● A note on pet bonding: No matter how much I bond with your doggy, please know that I have never had a case where as a petsitter I don't pass to a second plane when mom or dad are here for pickup. Never fear your doggy will forget you just because he is having a great time and enjoying himself while in my care. Remember, my job is for him to be happy while you are gone, and my way to do this is by providing a ton of love and fun. Feel good that he is happy with someone who cares about his emotional wellness and is taking great care of him. That is exactly what is making him feel happy and not sad while you are gone.
