Pet care experience
In my current home, my housemate has an adorable orange cat. I look after her when my housemate needs help during long work hours or vacations. My cat, Gus, is a Maine Coon mix. He's a beautiful, gentle giant I adopted over the course of the past four years from the Franklin Park area. He adopted my porch and became my garden buddy. When I left the neighborhood, his original people agreed that he should move with me, thankfully! At my previous home, I looked after a precious bunch of dogs, including a senior Jack Russell terrier named Daisy and her sweet daughter, Pearl, and a large, and lovable black and tan hound dog named Andy. We were quite the pack. I always keep a carrier in my car trunk in case I run into a little lost sweetheart who needs help getting back home. I recently traveled to Washington State and arranged a pet sit with a couple of precious cavapoos! That was fantastic! I am most open to caring for small-to-medium-sized dogs and all cats, but I'd rather avoid larger breeds. As I do not have experience with pit bulls/pit bull mixes, I cannot accept those arrangements for my safety, theirs, and anyone else's. My lack of experience would be a liability that I cannot afford, financially or emotionally.

As always, absolutely amazing!
As Tina said, "you're simply the best, better than all the rest!" When it comes to pet sitters, the same holds true for Melissa. She's a god send! Thank you so much Melissa.
I could write a dissertation, raving about Melissa and her excellent care of my cats and home while I was gone. She is simply put--- AMAZING!
Melissa is a dog lover to the nth degree. She has had several dogs in her care in the past few years and has done an exemplary job. She has walked these dogs with no adverse incidents. She will take good care of anyone else's puppy and get them some good brisk exercise. The owners of the dogs in her care will have nothing to worry about.

I care for my cat and my housemate's cat in my home according to my housemate's preferences, and did the same at my previous residence with three precious dogs. I do the same for my clients, for whom I walk or sit their pets. It is ideal and helps me work correctly and confidently if each client provides a detailed list of what they want for their pet's safety, comfort, and happiness!
Information Melissa C. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know anything about your pet to help me keep them safe during walks, drop-ins, and sits. If your dog gets anxious and barks a lot during walks, I can handle it if I know. I'm a big fan of "retreat and reroute" in such cases, thanks to my experience with a sweet but very vocal little terrier. It would also help to know if there are dogs in the neighborhood that set them off or if they are stubborn walkers and how I might encourage them. Or should I pick them up for a few minutes if they're small enough? Basically, please let me know anything about them and their behaviors that will enhance their walks and keep them safe.
A typical day
At my previous residence with dogs, I loved taking them to Franklin Park, and walking around the ponds. We would often take longer walks into Bexley, which was just across Alum Creek. There was plenty to sniff in both places! We occasionally hopped in the car to go to Three Creeks Metro Park. New parks = new sniffs!

I'm a freelance writer and can work from anywhere! I truly love animals (and can't have my own dog right now as I rent), and I still want to care for your sweet pets! My housemate cares for my sweet Gus when I take on assignments.
