Hello! A HUGE 1-acre fenced yard can be your well-behaved pup’s dream. Conveniently located just off Route 17, I am a mature, responsible, and drama-free dog lover who misses having a furbaby in the house, but isn’t ready to get another one just yet. Happy to chat or do a meet and greet to see if we are a good fit for each other! Ps. I don’t charge the extended time rate, so can work with you to be flexible on pickup times.

Melinda and Tan were great! We left our dog with them for 2 days while we went on a quick ski trip. They sent updates and pictures constantly, keeping us informed of what she was up to at all times. We knew she was safe and well taken care of with them!
In sum, Melinda is the peace of mind you wish for when you must leave your four-legged member of the family behind on your two-legged-members-only family trip. She sends daily updates with photos and blog-worthy memos for us, has a huge fenced-in yard for the dog and a heart of gold for us and the dog. Our search for the perfect sitter is over. We have finally found “the one.”
if we could give 6 stars - we would! melinda, tan and zoey all made our oliver feel like a part of the family. this was the longest we’ve ever been away from him but all the pictures, texts and updates gave us such peace of mind. they are warm, caring and sweet and now our puppy has a new best friend ?
Our 6-month puppy, Chase, had a fabulous time with Melinda and family. Melinda kept me updated throughout our puppy's two night stay. In addition, Melinda's dog, Zoey, was a great play companion for Chase. Melinda has a wonderful fenced-in yard that provided Chase a safe environment to run and play. Thank you, Melinda!

I understand how being away from your loved one can cause stress or anxiety (unfortunately, we had a bad experience with a sitter once, so personally know this feeling all too well). I can provide multiple updates a day if you’d like, photos, videos, and even video calls, whatever will help you feel that s/he is safe and cared for. This is a unique property — huge, park-like fenced yard on a cul-de-sac street. I have a medium size crate in case your pups like them. Multiple dog beds throughout the house and no more than 5 stairs anywhere. I’m equipped to take in two dogs at a time, but I don’t have to if you prefer your pup to have a solo stay.

It’s best for our environment if s/he is clean, calm, and well behaved, e.g., does not jump on furniture unless allowed, chew, or drool excessively; is laid back, easygoing, not overly anxious or vocal*, and is non-aggressive. *it’s best if the dog doesn’t bark unnecessarily; unfortunately it can sometimes trigger a headache for my spouse
A typical day
Pups can explore all around the yard, play ball, frisbee, or just run freeeee! :) We can also take walks down our quiet cul-de-sac street. Our neighbors on the other side of the fence also have dogs so they sometimes like to greet our canine guests and say hi through the fence :)

Availability
I do sometimes get requests to watch pups in NYC but I’m currently home in NJ full-time. The care I provide is the same level of care I’ve provided for my own dog. Some affectionately call me “auntie” :)
