Pet care experience
I started dog sitting at a young age when my parents wouldn't buy us a dog. Eventually I convinced them to let me do the seeing eye training, where you raise a puppy for a year. We did that twice. Then we had our family German Shepard who just passed after 14 long and happy years. I miss having a pup to take on a walk or hang out with. I have always been a big fan of all sorts of dogs. They just get it. I just left my job as the head manager at a local, small independent movie theater so I have some extra time on my hands. I am happy to take walks, pop in for dinner or for a bathroom break, and to house sit while owners are away.

Melanie Redican is a fantastic person and a huge dog lover. We ask her to watch our dog Mac so often that we just let her keep a key to our house. Mac gets as excited to see Melanie walk through our door as he does for us, because she takes him on long walks, plays with him until he's tired, and occasionally gives him treats. Melanie has even learned the specific commands we've used to train Mac, which makes her watching him an even better experience for us and our dog. We've known Melanie for 10 years, and would recommended her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.

It's really important to let any caretaker know of a dog's history with other dogs, kids, or anything that could put your dog or someone else in danger. Also any phobia's your dog may have (was once confused by a dog who hated wind chimes). I want to be fully prepared and plan accordingly so everyone has a nice time.
A typical day
If preferred, I like taking dogs for longer walks on trails! Lots of good trails in the area and makes for an exciting walk. Engaging dogs mentally & physically so they are exhausted by the time we get home. Please let me know what training you have been working on so we can really practice this during walks!
