Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Matt, and for twenty-six years I have grown up surrounded by cats and dogs. Since I was a young kid, cats have always been and continue to be my best friends. I currently take care of 4 cats (Tiger, Stripey, Minky, and Mittens). I have prior experience caring for a previously diabetic cat who required daily insulin shots and allergy medication injections, an older-aged cat who needed regular oral and topical medications, and a small dog. I have current experience as a veterinary assistant and general practice department lead at a veterinary hospital administering subcutaneous fluids to cats & dogs, cleaning ears, performing pedicures, expressing anal glands, giving subcutaneous and intravenous injections (vaccines and other drugs), and obtaining blood samples. Cats are by far my favorite animals and I enjoy meeting new ones whenever I have the opportunity. I would be glad to meet whatever animal you may have and treat your pet with respect and care as if they are my own. I am currently working full-time, so my schedule is not very flexible at the moment. On the days I work (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and occasional Saturdays), I am free in the evening after 6:00/6:30 pm. If I do not immediately respond to your request on days when I'm working, I will try my best to get back to you during my breaks and off time. *I am currently only caring for cats at this time*
Reviews
Matt is an incredibly kind, caring, and considerate person whom I will absolutely rebook with. He is a pleasure to work with and it was such a relief to know my cat was in such good hands! Thanks so much, Matt!
Thanks for checking on our cat, feeding him, and sending pics! Also appreciated doing a meet and greet to get comfortable with everything!
Matt was great. He came by for a meet and greet, understood our needs as pet owners of a super senior kitty with some medical issues, was prompt in his arrival times and sent updates in real time, and was able to provide fluids to our kitty so we could go away for a few days knowing our she would be okay. We will definitely reach out to Matt in the future!
Matt was so great with our cat during the meet and greet, especially since she’s not always the most friendly with new people. He was on time to the visit which can not be overstated how much it puts my mind at ease!

I follow the instructions provided to me by owners and will thoroughly communicate if something needs to be done or if their pet has certain needs that come up.
Information Matt W. would like to know about your pet
A very important piece of information to have is the pet's veterinary information in case of emergency. In case of an actual emergency, owners should be aware of the decision to perform CPR and if they want that performed on their pet as well as other diagnostics performed to stabilize them (oxygen, injections, fluids, etc). While working at a practice that sees emergencies, it is unfortunately common to see dog walkers and other sitters bringing in owners' pets for actual medical emergencies. Having multiple contacts to reach an owner definitely helps if communication is difficult.
A typical day
I enjoy playing with cats, cuddling with them, and giving them pets whenever they would like. If an owner allows it, I like spending time outdoors with their pets.

Availability
I currently work full-time so I try to do drop-in visits whenever I can before work, after work, or on my days off. My schedule is not very flexible on the days I work and am only free to do a certain number of drop-in visits on those days.
