About Marisol
Pet care experience
I am originally from the Chicagoland area where I got my bachelor's in elementary education and competed as a division one athlete. My husband and I moved to Austin so that I could attend UT and complete graduate coursework. We fell in love with the weather and dog-friendliness of Austin so much, that we have not moved back. Growing up, I had a shih-tzu named Max, who is now 12 years old. He lives with my parents back in Chicago. Since then, I adopted my dog, Chestnut. Chestnut is a two year old boxer/pit mix with tons of energy. She loves meeting new dogs and having picnics at Zilker's dog park.
Reviews
Marisol was great overnight with our small dog Finch. Easy communication, everything was very smooth. Thank you!
Marisol is great! I booked with her mainly because of her prices/availability but as I talked to her more and realized she and her partner would be watching my dog together gave me more comfort knowing Saige (my dog) would have attention throughout the day.
Our Dusty was well taken care of. Communication was great! Thanks so much! We will definitely book again
Marisol went above and beyond with a special request - she made it so easy! Bodie had a great time.

My husband and I love traveling, but hate that we can't always take our pup with us. We appreciate getting updates, pictures, videos, etc. of our Chestnut when we're gone. I send pictures, videos, and updates throughout your dog's stay. Sometimes it may be too much, but I know how much it means to those who are traveling. I can send updates as much or little as you want! I only accept one dog at a time, unless they are from the same household. Typically, there is always someone home with the dogs. However, there are times when I have to step out for errands. In this case, my dog goes in the crate in a separate room until I return. I try to limit the time I am not home with the dogs to 1-2 hours.

Information Marisol R. would like to know about your pet
Here is some important information for me to know about your pup: 1. Their feeding/potty schedule and how much they eat. 2. Any medical conditions. 3. Energy level. 4. Are they house trained? 5. Are they excessive barkers? I live in an apartment, so this may not be the best fit for us and our neighbors. 6. Can they be on the furniture or bed? My dog sleeps on the bed with us, so this is no problem! 7. Do they chew/ destroy things? If so, I like to dog proof before hand! 8. Are they food/toy aggressive? I feed them separately anyways, but this is helpful to know ahead of time. Other information 1. I will do some pick-up and drop offs for a fee, but only within a reasonable radius to my home. 2. Please only bring food in a bag, leash, collar, and treats. I have everything else, including bowls, toys, blankets, etc. If your dog needs a certain bed, shirt/blanket with your scent, toy, or slow feeder, that is fine. It's just easier to keep track of less things. 3. After confirming a stay, please text me when you are 15 minutes away. I plan around drop off/pickup times. 4. I am more than happy to do meet and greets, just let me know if you would like one before booking. If you think we are a good fit, please send me a message. I would love to have your fur-baby as our guest!
A typical day
I have plenty of dog puzzles for brain stimulation and toys. I like to take my dog on walks. We will often explore a new trail, then end the trip trying out a new coffee shop. We have a trail near my apartment, but our favorite is walking over the bridge on lady bird lake.

Availability
During the school year, I work full time, so weekends may be the best fit for overnight boarding (Friday-Sunday). However, my husband works nights, so if you have an early drop off on Friday, we can accommodate that! I don’t work during the summer, so I make my own schedule!
