Pet care experience
I have been taking care of dogs most of my life. I grew up in Finland with giant dogs like St Bernards and Newfoundlands, looked after neighbors’ small dogs when I lived in London, and have been caring for my own two small rescues Bolt and Brock since they came to our lives over 10 years ago. As a family, we have fostered a lot of strays through the county and a few different local nonprofits. I used to host through Rover a few years ago and have come back to be able to meet dogs that are hopefully more active than my elderly boys.
Reviews
Mariah was just wonderful! They went above and beyond, meeting in the park prior, picking up our dog and playing lots of ball with her. Her dog knowledge, flexible work schedule, and her own happy dog Bolt made her the perfect fit for us. I'd recommend her to anyone and will certainly use her in the future too.
Mariah is an excellent caretaker of animals as well as people. She is meticulous in her efforts to maintain a healthy pet and clean/spotless environment for both the animal and people alike. Cleaning, feeding, and loving all animals that she has come into contact with and ensuring that they are happy as a ray of sunshine by bedtime.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fully fenced large yard with plenty of room for our guests to enjoy. Our own dogs sleep on our bed, so we’re open to welcoming guests into a real home environment where they’ll be a part of our life and enjoy the freedom to go anywhere they want in the house. We have two children aged 4 and 8, and they have grown up with our dogs, and they love having foster pups come until they find their own homes. We would prefer to host a dog that is used to children and comes from a home with kids around.

Information Mariah T. would like to know about your pet
My friendly elderly fixed rescues like other dogs, but I’d prefer not to host unfixed male dogs because mine might become territorial. We’re experienced in looking after special-needs dogs; one of ours has only three legs, he’s on heart failure medication, and I have hosted deaf and blind senior dogs too. We fostered a toothless chihuahua with a back problem, and have looked after a stray that came straight from spay surgery! I’d need to know what medication (if any) your pet is on, and where their usual vet is in case of an emergency. If they have any chronic conditions I’m happy to accommodate their needs.
A typical day
I’m open to any needs our guests might have. If you’d prefer us to let your pet laze around, that’s fine, but if they love to walk or run, I’d be happy to take them out around the neighborhood. I prefer not to go to the dog park because I’d be nervous about your dog’s safety, but if there is a park they’re used to going to, I’m happy to go!

My husband and I work from home so there is always someone at home. I am able to take breaks whenever to take our guests out for a walk, and they will be supervised 24/7.
