Friend of all dogs and cats!
Pet care experience
I have been taught from birth how to care for cats or dogs. I owned my own dog for the first time when I was 7, and cared for him through puppyhood all the way until 2020, when he passed away at the ripe old age of 15. Caring for him as a senior dog has opened my heart to all senior animals. I've always enjoyed caring for animals, even when they present challenges such as being afraid or particularly energetic. I generally find that animals trust me and my calm demeanor.

Thanks Mariah your the best
Mariah stayed with our 4 pups for several nights. She provided us with peace of mind. She took great care of our pups! She responded quickly when I messaged her and kept us apprised of any issues. Definitely highly recommend Mariah!
Mariah has been doing amazing with our dog and getting him more comfortable with going on walks. She makes sure he gets water after his walk and keeps us updated on everything.
Mariah is so good with Simba

If you are a new client, I absolutely need to set up a meet and greet with you first. Please know ahead of time that I am no longer comfortable leaving dogs alone for more than 8-10 hours at a time, so if you are booking drop-ins and will be absent from home, please book at least 3 per day. I am careful with doors that lead to the outside because some pets are runners and escape artists. I am able to work with puppies that need to be potty trained, and I even know how to get kittens to use the litterbox if they have trouble. I can administer medicine the way that you do when a pet takes medication. I can walk the dog(s) one or two times a day, whatever is necessary. Overall, all attention is on the pet(s), and they will receive the care that you hope for. My husband often stays with me during house stays, as he is also an animal lover and is a great help to me when taking care of pets. If you are wanting to book a house sitting, please let me know whether or not my husband is also welcome and if you would like to meet him during the meet and greet, too.
Information Mariah K. would like to know about your pet
Before I walk a dog, all I need to know is how the dog will react to certain things he or she will encounter outside, like squirrels, other dogs, or children. I also would like to know what key words or gestures the owner uses to get the dog to behave on a leash, like "heel". Before checking up on a dog, I need to know where the important supplies are and I absolutely need to have met the dog so he or she doesn't get defensive. Before I stay with a dog, the same requirements stand as for checking on a dog, plus I will need to know where the dog sleeps and any other quirks that the dog has or that the owner wants me to follow while in their home taking care of their pet. In the case of puppies, please let me know if they are not able to be left alone in the kennel for any amount of time, because that will result in a rate of $70 per overnight as a puppy base rate, since I cannot leave to take care of other pets.
A typical day
With the dogs I watch, I would love to throw the ball or toy so they can play fetch for a while. I like to take dogs to parks nearby their homes. Most of all, pets will get lots of scratches and/or snuggles (whatever the pet is comfortable with) while I watch them. I will spend the majority of the day with your pet(s), aside from when I need to leave briefly to check on other pets. Your pet(s) will never be home alone for more than 4 hours and I will never leave them overnight.

Availability
I have no pets of my own and my only work is through Rover. I do occasionally work on my blog, but I schedule blog time around Rover. I do not usually walk dogs on Thursdays. If I have a lot of overnight bookings in a single month, I will set the rest of the days as unavailable for overnight bookings, so that I can have time to take care of my own home, too. Otherwise, I am flexible. However, if you are a new client of mine, I will absolutely need to set up a meet and greet with you first, so ensure you book far enough in advance that I can do so (at least a couple of days). Same day bookings are only available if you can meet me first somehow or you are a repeat client and I am not already busy.
