I am a huge dog lover!!
Pet care experience
I was raised in a split household, but had dogs in each home growing up. Both my parents always said that I was our dogs main human, to which a took great pride in that. I currently have a genetically deaf puppy, which is a handful but so much fun. I have taught her ASL signs to communicate my needs & cues for her to share to me of what she may need. She does great on a leash, with only a very light tug to either side to direct her for a turn, with a slight pet on the bottom if she is straggling using her super sniffer.
Reviews
I have known Margaret for 7 years and have had her watch our 2 huskies on multiple occasions for overnight stays while we are out of town, she is great with animals and has had dogs most of her life! I would recommend her to anyone for your doggie care!

Safety, trust & environment
I use positive reinforcement with my puppy. As she is deaf, she relies heavily on her sense of touch to guide her. For this reason, pets, kisses & cuddles are given to excess to encourage her good behaviors, while a slight turn of the back is given to discourage unwanted behavior. I do use a vibration collar as well, for when she is a distance away, to redirect any negative habits. Treats are used in learning new skills & then slowly switched out for a good old ear scratch or belly rub.
Information Margaret V. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any special needs ahead of time. I currently have a genetically deaf dog & have previously had a blind dog. Outside of this, I am always willing to learn.
A typical day
I love taking dogs for walks/hikes to get as much fresh air as possible. I have great experience in fetch, as my border collies keep me going always.

Availability
Monday to Friday, I work in Jackson at a desk job. I receive an hour break, that I rarely take, due to being a bit of a workaholic. I am hoping to get out around lunch each day (between 11am & 12pm) to receive a bit of fresh air. I can certainly be flexible with this schedule if needed, so let's discuss.
