Caring & Energetic Dog Walker
Pet care experience
I live for dogs!! When I graduated college, I sought haven in dog walking, and didn't look back. Walking and training dogs very quickly became passions, and my goal is to become a professional dog trainer. I'm more than happy to practice with your doggo(s), upon request, and am just as content snuggling, walking, and watching movies with them. Before college, I worked as a pet sitter for six years, and regularly cared for neighbors' active dogs. I'm comfortable with all breeds I've cared for, including Pitties, Huskies, Ridgebacks, and German Shepherds. We always had a blast! Post-college, I walked dogs for two years and practiced leash-training with private clients, before adopting my own Pittie/Rottie/Potato mix, Ember, who is the love of my life. She's nearly two years old and loves other dogs, and though she can be quite forward in her play-style, she is also submissive and a total sweetheart. Boarded dogs can also be housed and walked/played with separately; I have a separate studio adjacent to my home where dogs can have downtime and/or sleep. Just let me know your preference. I have experience administering insulin shots to diabetic dogs and cats, and feel comfortable administering other medications, giving baths, etc. I live on several acres of wooded hillside, with a creek, paths, and opportunity for adventure galore. My yard is large enough for 3-4 dogs to play happily and safely. **Please note that because the property sits on a steep grade, this should be taken into consideration before booking dogs with hip dysplasia, arthritis, or other conditions. There is a small agility course on a flat, unfenced area that I am happy to use with all willing participants. I have several long leashes that can be used to ensure their safety. If you'd like some training help or refreshers, feel free to let me know where you'd like to see improvement and I can put my amateur skills and keen intuition to the test! I only use positive reinforcement training with clients' dogs. I'm excited to expand my network of four-legged friends with Rover!
Reviews
Lucy is my go-to friend when I need someone to take care of my fur baby. She’s a 12 year old golden retriever named Rosie, and Lucy has taken care of her for up to three days on several occasions when I needed vacations. She gave me updates daily; it was so nice to feel at ease when I was away from my dog. Rosie has type 1 diabetes and needs reliable and constant daily care, and Lucy is such a caring and conscientious caretaker. She looked after her and administered insulin injections daily, as well as played with and walked her twice daily. She even sent me pictures of her which was so nice while I was away. I highly recommend her as a dog walker or sitter!!
I have a 110lb dog that loves Lucy. Lucy is punctual, responsible and loves animals. I have entrusted Lucy to watch both my children and my animals and will continue to do so in the future. You will not be disappointed if you hire Lucy to care for your four legged children.

Information Lucy N. would like to know about your pet
I'd like to know how many walks your dog needs -- two per day? Three? Do they prefer more short walk to a couple long walks? What special dietary needs does your dog have, if any? What's their current schedule? E.g. when do the normally eat, walk, and sleep? If your dog has any health issues (including allergies), what are they? What triggers does your dog have? Should I cross the street when we see another dog, skateboarder, or bicyclist? While on walks, is it best to stay away from roads? Has your dog ever shown aggression issues? What activities does your dog enjoy? Let me know if and where you'd like to see improvement in your dog's training, and I'm more than happy to practice with them!
A typical day
We can hike to the creek and take a dip, stroll around the wooded property, go for bike rides, train on the agility course, enjoy car rides, play tug or fetch, or just snuggle on the couch! My dog, Ember, is always looking for playmates and is happy to play in the fenced yard with other dogs. Scheduled downtime (in crate, place mat, or bed) is also part of our daily routine.
