Pet care experience
Hello, I'm Lucy, a 21-year-old graduate from Sheffield Hallam University.
I have always held a fondness in my heart for animals. With three dogs of my own, a labrardor and two hungarian viszlas, I spent alot of my time taking care of them before I moved to complete my degree. This included long walks on the beach, training and of course plenty of cuddles. I have experience with pet sitting for both friends and family, which I thoroughly enjoyed. This has varied from week long stays to just ensuring their pets were walked or had some company throughout the day.
Moving away from liverpool (my home), in order to complete my degree has meant that I see my dogs less, I miss them awfully. Out of my friends, you can always trust that if I spot a dog i'll be right over to ask permission for cuddles. Whenever I get a chance to pop home i take it! My parents joke that i'm more interested in seeing the dogs than I am them (they're not far wrong)! Therefore, I thought pawshake would be a perfect opportunity for me. The current accommodation i'm in, sadly doesn't allow me to have pets, however i'm more than happy to stay over in order to take care of any pets. In addition, my services will include pop-in visits, walks and I will be happy to discuss anything else asked of me! :)
Reviews
We have a high energy working spaniel who needs lots of affection, exercise and stimulation and who hasn’t spent much time away from us. Lucy was brilliant - she was kind, thoughtful and attentive to our dog’s needs, genuinely wanting to make sure she was happy and comfortable and quickly earning her trust. There’s not many people who our dog will sit and cuddle but Lucy is one of them. Take it from me - as someone who’s VERY fussy about who looks after their dog - any animals are in safe hands with Lucy. Thanks Lucy!
Lucy looked after our puppy, Maximus, a couple of weeks ago and we were really impressed! Slightly hesitant as it’s the first time we’ve left him, however she was great and sent updates daily as well as pictures which made our holiday more relaxing! Lucy was so friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend her!
Lucy is perfect for dog training, my dog used to get very aggressive towards unfamiliar people until he met Lucy, Lucy could tame a wolf! Would highly recommend for both dog sitting and dog walking, so if your dog is like mine and gets aggressive towards people then don’t hesitate to get in touch with Lucy!
Lucy took great care of my little Jack Russell Bruce, she’s very polite and pleasant and he always seemed to have had a good run out!

I grew up with pets all my life. Currently I have three dogs, two Hungarian viszlas and a Labrador, that live in my family home. Before, I moved out, I cared for them by taking them out twice a day, taking them to their pet appointments and generally just lots of cuddles! :) Moreover, I trained all three of my dogs and I am therefore open to looking after younger dogs who are still learning.
Information Lucy E. would like to know about your pet
If they have any special requirements or previous trauma that may make them nervous or less likely to want to be around other dogs. In addition, any allergies or how they are on lead in comparison to off lead in order to ensure their safety ! :)
A typical day
I recognise that activities for dogs don’t just consists of walks. Mental stimulation is super important too! Specific dog breeds benefit off of different kinds of activities to keep them entertained. I make sure to vary walking routes, I.e. endcliffe park or perhaps a drive into the peaks in order to provide more space for lots of running! When I’m home I love to take my dogs to the beach and then once home play lots of stimulating games in order to keep them entertained whilst teaching them!

I have always worked and taken care of pets. Not only my own but friends and family! Working from home allows flexibility in order to provide a great standard of care for any pets involved! :) Furthermore, I enjoy making time for fitness around work which is perfect for taking pets out for exercise.
