Pet care experience
Took care of my neighbour's two cats on and off for about 4 years. My roommate adopted a chocolate lab puppy right at the start of Covid, so I learned the basics of caring for dogs, and have always loved playing with them. My family used to have a husky, and now we own a cat, Piper. She's fairly shy and taught my a lot about patience and understanding.

Lucas was patient and kind with my very anxious dog. She's normally very stranger-shy, but willingly took off for a walk with him the first time they met!
I highly recommend Lucas for your pet sitting needs. He has taken such good care of my cat, Buddy, and really puts in the extra time and love that he needs while we are gone. He is my go to pet sitter and I wouldn’t want anyone else looking after my little guy.

With dogs - I love routines or little games that they begin to recognize. When my roommate raised his puppy in our apartment, I would walk out every morning, see Koda, pause for a second while we both stared at each other, and then say "HIIIIII THERE." She immediately knew that sound and ran to me for free tummy rubs. Those kinds of things seem to build a lot of trust with dogs and are fun to implement while pet-sitting. Every dog is different though - some might be quieter, some might have more energy. With cats - I've dealt with several cats who are very playful, and also some who are very timid. Patience is key with cats, and if they aren't comfortable with a new stranger in their house, that's okay. Sometimes it takes time for them to adjust, but once they do, I really enjoy dropping my charging cord or lanyard for them to chase after.

I am a law student at Gonzaga University, so I'm looking for pet sitting gigs that align with my schedule. I study a lot for school, but prioritize my commitments, especially when there's a pet involved. Pets are family members and I devote specific time to playing with them or just generally keeping them company because I want them to be happy.
