Description:

I have had years of experience working with animals. Because I work for myself your dog is with me 24hours a day, where I go, they go. Everyday I take the dogs on at least one 45minute to an hour walk (depending on your dogs abilities/health) either on leash or to a legal off leash dog park depending on the dog. Prior to moving to Austin I was doing large and small group walks in San Francisco for over three years. I use only positive reinforcement when working with animals. And can guarantee your pets will get nothing but love and attention. My apartment isn't huge, which why I often limit the size of dogs I can take into my own home. But it is spotless, warm, and full of love in a very dog friendly complex. I also do in your home boarding and "wellness visits" for clients who just need a visitor during the day. I am licensed, insured and bonded as a profession dogwalker/petsitter.

About Lisa S.:

I have worked with animals my entire life, and for the past three years I have worked exclusively as a dogwalker/petsitter. There is nothing I love more than caring for animals and consider it a blessing that I can do so full time. I use only positive reinforcement with animals, and am comfortable with all breeds and sizes. Since I only take on one client at a time I guarantee your pet will be with me 24hours a day. Where I go they go. Let me shower your pet with love and attention while you are away.
Because of unlimited patience and an understanding that every animal is different I excel with puppies, older dogs, and pets with "special needs".
I send daily photo updates while your pet is in my care, so you can keep up on all their fun.
In addition to sitting I also offer private walks and wellfare visits for those pets that do not need or want all day care.

How long have you been a dog lover? Tell us about your history with dogs.

I have loved animals for longer than I can remember. Growing up in rural Texas my parents used our property as an animal shelter where we would foster up to 15 animals at a time ranging from rabbits, cats, dogs, to even the random turtle. In High-school I worked with the FFA taking care of sheep, pigs, and cattle. I have fostered dogs with behavioral issues, worked as a dogwalker, and volunteered at local shelters my entire adult life. Caring for animals is just a part of who I am. I couldn't imagine a life without having an animal to love.

What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences?

I have no breed or size preferences, but obviously living in the city you need to know if a dog you are caring for has any social issues, are they leash trained, are they good off leash, do they have any fears or triggers, or any health issues. I want all the good, bad, and ugly so that I am prepared to provide that animal with an environment and routine best for their individual needs.

Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?

I have a small suv with an open back (the seats fold up into the car) to transport dogs to whatever parks we decide to visit, to my studio during the day (depending on the dog) and in case of any emergency.

Are you comfortable administering medication?

Yes.

How much time do you plan on spending with my dog each day?

I spend almost the entire day with the dog, and for the clients who prefer it I am happy to send daily txt's or emails about your puppy's day.

If you have a backyard, please describe it.

My apartment looks out on a sunny grassy field specifically for the communitie's dogs. But I also take the dogs in my car on daily trips to the park.

Where will my dog sleep?

Where-ever they normally sleep. If they prefer to sleep in the bed, on their own bed or are crate trained that is exactly where they will sleep in our home.

Where will you take my dog on walks? Tell me about it.

Depends on the dogs location, temperament and physical needs.

Lisa S.'s Experience:

I have worked for over three years as a large and small group dogwalker and pet sitter, but have worked with animals both professionally and as a volunteer for most of my life giving me extensive experience as a pet-sitter, foster parent, and volunteer. I have worked with animals as large as cattle and as small as goldfish. I am licensed, bonded and insured as a dog-walker/pet-sitter. I believe on in positive reinforcement and providing a loving environment where a pet can only excel.

From start to finish, Lisa was just wonderful. Prompt, courteous, professional, and a great communicator. Full of love and affection for the dogs she sits. She will be my #1 choice from now on!

This is the first time I've left my dogs with anyone other than a friend or family. I can't even begin to say how much I appreciate the way Lisa took care of my two chihuahuas. She took time to get to know each of them and make them feel safe. One of my dogs has a history of biting and is a bit of a grouch, but she let him get to know her on his own terms and handled him perfectly. My dogs were treated just like they were at home, with lots of loving care. Every day Lisa sent me a photo and an update of how they were doing, which put my mind at ease. Whenever I have an occasion to travel, I'm definitely calling Lisa. (Collapse)

Lisa lived-in and was great - our home, dog and four cats were well taken care of during our vacation. She was easy to contact and we never worried.
Lisa was wonderful and we are looking forward to having her sit for our dog (and 4 cats!) again soon.

I can honestly say that I've never felt so comfortable leaving my baby girl in someone's care as I did knowing Lisa was looking after her. She is incredibly responsible, extremely personable, and LOVES-LOVES-LOVES animals, which is obvious, but also backed up by my dog's immediate ease and affection towards her. She's proactive, smart as a whip, and dedicated to your four-legged family member's welfare. I won't hesitate to book her again.
