Pet care experience
My experience with dogs began as a kid, but my work with dogs started at Willamette Humane Society while in high school. I continued to work with dogs and cats at Heartland Humane Society while in college at Oregon State University. After graduating with a B.S. in Zoology I worked at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. My love and respect for dogs grew even more as I professionally trained dogs at PetSmart. I find great importance and joy in my continued education in dog nutrition, well-being, and psychology. What to expect from me is attentive, compassionate, and educated care for your furry family member(s). After graduating from OSU in 2009 I became a zoo keeper at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. It was a great experience but my passion is working for dogs and seeing that they are given proper exercise to keep them both happy and healthy. Why I love dog sitting Since I was 4 when I marched around the house with a drum singing " I want a dog!" I may have been demanding but I knew that having a dog was the best gift! We adopted a pug/cockerspaniel puppy from the Willamette Humane Society and named him Toby. I've surrounded myself around dogs and other animals ever since. My experience administering medication Yes. I have volunteered at both Chintimini Wildlife and Turtle Ridge Rehabilitation Centers so I have given meds to wild animals. I also have given shots, pills, flea meds., etc. to dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, domestic birds, chinchillas, rats, and mice.
Reviews
Lisa is an incredible dogsitter. It's very clear how much she loves animals and how much experience she has caring for them. She was very easy to communicate with and sent updates to let me know how my dog was settling in. My dog had a wonderful time playing with her dog Tippy which was a bonus. I would love to have my dog stay with her again in the future.
Lisa made me feel at ease about it leaving my dog with her for a long weekend. She provided daily updates and messages so I knew Lucy was having a good time. She has a great yard and friendly dog that shared their space with Lucy. Her and her family are very welcoming and I would definitely rebook in the future.
Super communicative and took great care of my dog, thanks again!
Lisa and her family always take good care in a loving environment for our Rocky. We come back again and again because we trust Lisa. Thank you, Lisa.

Information Lisa S. would like to know about your pet
I always ask about any food allergies or health issues that the dog may have. It is important to know what makes the dog feel at ease and most at home as well. What are their favorite activities? Do they have a favorite game, like fetch? The more information from the dog's parents I can learn, the better it is for the dog. Ask any of my friends or family and they will say that I love all dogs. I'm the person that will point out every dog I see as we drive or walk by. My favorite breed of all time, however, is the Australian Cattle Dog. Beagles are a close second and Pomeranian's hold a soft spot in my heart. I've only ever been a dog parent to mixed breeds though and I have had the best experience with them! A Blue Heeler/Lab mix was the most recent best friend and he lived a long, happy life.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks Around my neighborhood as often as the dog wishes. I will take the dog to a park if the parent allows trips. I have hiked with dog clients too. I always make sure the dog parent is comfortable with the outings first. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Anywhere in the house that he or she pleases. I respect the dog's parents' rules that they have at their home and I stick to them at mine. There's no undoing training at my home. Ask me if there are behaviors the dog is learning or working on and I will help train. I have dog training experience and I enjoy teaching dogs! Time I'll spend with your dog I will spend as much time as possible with the dog that I am caring for. Dogs are not meant to be alone and and I do my best to keep them entertained. My guarantee is that I don't leave the dog for more than 5 hours during one day. Time I'll spend with your dog I will be there for your dog(s) all night and most of the day. It depends on what you prefer but I always want to make sure that your dog or cat is happy when you are away. My guarantee is that I do not leave your dog alone for more than 6 hours during the day. For cats, I will visit 1-2 times per day and they stay alone overnight. Extra house-sitting services Of course! I wouldn't want you to come home to wilted plants or a messy house. I can collect the mail, newspaper, take out the trash, and tend to the plants.
