I love your babies like I do mine!
Pet care experience
I’ve have taken care of and owned dogs of many breeds all on my own since about 9 years old. From being in 4H to attending AKC dog shows with my family, it is a family affair. As a teen used to volunteer at my local veterinarians office, learning the ins and outs of dog care. I’ve raised several dogs from puppyhood over the years until their old age, 12-14 years. My family, friends and neighbors have relied on me to help them care, board, train and the like with their dogs, I am their “Auntie”. My family is a military family, and I know how hard it is to find someone to help with pets during travel or during long duty days. I have cared long term for pet owners before as well from 3 months at the shortest to most recently 8.5 month stay. I do have experience with special needs pets and can learn your pets needs to help you. I am fully vaccinated and maintain social distancing for your safety and mine. I believe in positive balance training, I typically work with my dogs 10-15 mins each day solely on their training.

Everything I do with mine, if allowable I do with yours. While at my home, I stick to your pets schedule for feedings and the like. I like to do meet n greets before hand at my home for boardings, to make sure your furbabies will be a good fit with mine. And to assess how they are in a new environment. If I am at your home, I follow all of your house rules, be very respectful of your home, and be dedicated to ensuring your furbabies are well cared for there. Whether I’m caring for a drop in visit to a longer stay, I treat your babies as I would my own. Ensuring they are loved on, cared for, maintaining any training if necessary, providing any specialty care, and beyond. If you need something just ask!
Information Leah W. would like to know about your pet
I find it important to know what leash behaviors they may have, or need help with. It’s also important to know what kind of socializing they have had or need help with. I also find it helpful to know any special feeding, health or sleeping information. Knowing what extent of training the animals may or may not have help me determine what I can help with. The most important thing for me to know is what type of reactivity does your dog have?
A typical day
I love to take my dog(s) throughout my neighborhood or theirs, and to trails nearby. Allowing for scents and free walks is important for brain stimulation. I love to start all of my walks with a few minutes of scratches and loves as we wait to calm to put on leash, collar, or other necessary items. I always bring small treats or a small toy for those still in training to help with leash training. If you have a park nearby that is dog friendly I love to take them there, to enjoy a nice walk around, I take some of clients pups to the trails nearby, and go walking if time allows. For trails I ask that dogs be vaccinated and have some form of tick and flea prevention.

Availability
I am currently a stay at home mom with a mostly open schedule. I do all of our pets care first thing in the morning. The days I have selected are days I am typically fully available. I walk our family dogs 3-5 times a week, and my son rotates with me other days. We have play time usually 3 times or more a day for 15-30 mins each time. We play frisbee and scent training in the backyard to trail walks. My birds get 30-90 mins of outside cage time daily to fly, play and explore. In the warmer months I head out to the trails at the parks with our pup to let him explore.
