Pet care experience
I've taken care of dogs since I was 12. That's when we got our first boy and he was a little wild. I learned how to walk dogs by taking care of him. Over the years, I have walked and taken care of several family dogs. I have also helped friends with their dogs - from playing, brushing, feeding, to walking. I absolutely love dogs!
Reviews
Lauren is very responsive and reliable. My puppy absolutely loves the quality time with her.
Lauren was awesome and now Cooper has a new buddy when we are away. Really appreciate her keeping us updated and getting to know him by spending quality time when she came to feed and walk him. Cooper looks forward to seeing her again. Thanks Lauren.
Lauren is awesome and Chief loves her.
Professional, caring and loving for my Aussie. Highly recommend!

Safety, trust & environment
I am very familiar with the local parks in downtown Bethesda and have walked around most of them more than once myself. Having lived in the area for almost 5 years now, I have a very good awareness of safety for myself and for dogs I'm walking.
Information Lauren R. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know about the dog's energy levels. Are they someone who prefers running or casual strolls? Do they know any commands like sit or heel and maybe we should practice some things? I'm more than happy to help with any treat-based training you might already be doing with the dog, to reinforce good behavior. A meet-and-greet with you and the dog might be the best way to start to get to know one another.
A typical day
There are several parks in my neighborhood I where I love to go. One in particular, has a fenced area where people will let their dogs off leashes so they can run around and play catch. I've played catch with dogs using frisbees or tennis balls. Whatever the dog prefers to do. If the dog would like a calmer stroll, there are some nice tree-lined areas we can walk as well. I try to be attentive to what the dog wants to do and never force them to do anything they're not interested in.

Availability
I'm a chemistry professor who teaches on different schedules different times of the year. My program runs year-round, so Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays tend to either be teaching days or sometimes a little iffy unless we're on one of our breaks. I do keep my calendar up to date regarding availability, though. But when I'm not teaching, I enjoy going for walks (preferably with a fuzzy companion). Mondays I'm usually free all day. Fridays are flexible timing because I will occasionally have work meetings. Saturdays and Sundays I'm usually available in the afternoon when it will be warmer and more comfortable for the dogs to be outside walking around and exploring.
