Pet care experience
Tom and Kristin live in beautiful Grant Park with their shelter rescue and only "child", Milly. Tom works from home most days, so he can usually keep an eye on your pup both day and night... even on weekdays. Kristin works at the State Capitol and is training for a half marathon, so she can take your dog on a jog in the park (for the distance that you prefer). Milly is a 30 pound mixed breed with lots of energy. She LOVES other dogs (no cats though), so your pooch will definitely have a pal. We have a medium sized doggy door and fenced in yard, with a nice wooden patio for the canines to sun bathe. The fur babies are always allowed inside and outside and even on the furniture (unless you don't want yours to pick up that habit). We are generally relaxed about having dogs in the house (i.e. chew toys are everywhere; nose smears are on windows). Overall, we understand first-hand how stressful it is to leave your fur child at someone else's house. To make it easier on your dog, we will try to keep his or her schedule as close to "normal" as possible. To make it easier on you, we will send you pictures and updates.
Reviews
Kristin and her husband did an awesome job with Diesel. They sent us pictures everyday and I was able to tell that he was being taken care of and happy. Thank you Kristin for taking such good care of my baby :)
Wonderful experience with Kristin, as always!
Fabulous sitter, sends pics and takes great care of my baby!
Penny was a bit over active but I think she and Milly got along fine after the first hour or so, she just really loves to play.

We do not have a breed preference, but we prefer that the dog be small or medium sized so that (s)he can freely walk through the doggy door as (s)he pleases. We have found that larger dogs get upset when Milly runs in and out of the door, and they can't follow her. We would like to know about the dog's typical routine, so that we can try to keep his or her day as close as possible to "normal". For example: How many times is (s)he fed? Does (s)he go on walks? Where does (s)he sleep?. Finally, we'd like to know how the dog interacts with other dogs.

Here's where we'll take our walks Beautiful Grant Park! We are less than a half mile walk to the park. There is also a "non-official" dog park, where we can take your dog upon your request. On weekends, we also like to take outings to Piedmont Park, Stone Mountain, and the Silver Comet trail. Your dog's sleeping arrangement This depends on your preference and dog. Our dog, Milly, sleeps in our bed. If your dog's size and temperament will allow for it, your dog is welcome to join too. Otherwise, we have a small sitting room beside our bedroom that is perfect for a dog bed or crate, and it can be separated with a doggy gate if needed. Time I'll spend with your dog As much as you like. Tom works from home most days, so someone is home almost all of the time. The dogs are free to come in and out of the house, so they can sit under his feet all day long or play in the yard. They are also welcome to hang out with us in the evenings as well. If you happen to request a day that Tom will not be at home, we will let you know upon scheduling. Also, Kristin jogs about an hour every other day, and your pup is welcome to join her. Frisbee games and trips to the dog park can also be arranged. :)

Why I love dog sitting Tom and Kristin have both always loved dogs. Kristin grew up with dogs in the house and has many fond memories of her childhood fur "sisters," Bead and Woobie. Sadly, Tom was not able to own dogs as a child due to his father's pet allergy, but Tom always dreamed of the day that he would be able to own a dog. Fortunately, his wish was granted in August 2011, when Kristin (his then-girlfriend/ now-wife) adopted little Milly.
