Pet care experience
I've been caring for dogs since I was a teen and had a corgi for 14 years as adult. I raised him from 10 weeks to his senior years, including tending to special needs as his degenerative myelopathy progressed in his last two years. I have experience administering medicine with a syringe as well as orally. I enjoy taking dogs to our local trails for a hike or run or just going for a stroll in the neighborhood, depending on your dog's needs and preferences!
Reviews
Kristen is the absolute BEST! My little girl has such a great time when she’s over there and Kristen has a great big yard my pup can run in and smell all the smells and chase all the squirrels and birds, which are her favorite things to do. I definitely don’t have to worry when Kristen is taking care of her. Strongly recommend!

Safety, trust & environment
Dogs have free range of the house and fenced backyard, but I am happy to adjust that if needed. Having had a nosy/curious dog in the past, we are mindful of keeping food, trash, and other curiosities out of reach of four-legged friends. I have experience with fearful and anxious dogs and I am comfortable looking after those who do not have a history of biting.

Information Kristen M. would like to know about your pet
I'd like to know your pet's feeding and exercise schedule, as well as any special health issues or behavioral traits. How do they do with new places, new dogs, and new people? What is their usual sleep routine? Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed on the bed under normal circumstances, but I'm happy to make space for them in our bedroom.
A typical day
I can provide daily exercise to meet your dog's needs (walk, run, fetch). We can play fetch indoors (size appropriate), tug, or for food-motivated friends, we have several food puzzle-type toys. I really enjoyed playing "find it" and hide and go seek with my late corgi, but our current dog does not entertain such games! With "find it," I'd get my dog to sit in one spot while he watched me hide small pieces of treats around the room or house. When I released him, he loved trying to remember where they were and sniffing them out! For hide and seek, I would (try to) get him to stay in one spot while I went to hide. I'd then call to release him to come find me. So fun! I also enjoy cuddles and welcome canine friends on the couch with me.

Availability
I work from home, so I am able to tend to pets throughout the day as needed. I can exercise your dog after work daily or as needed, or even do multiple short outings throughout the day. Weekends provide more time for extended outings if that is something your dog would like! I love playing with and/or providing mental stimulation for doggies that enjoy such activities. :)
