Love is a four-legged word!!!
Pet care experience
Hey there, my name is Kayleigh and animals are my life! I grew up with many different types of animals and currently own a little pack of my own. Nothing compares to the love and joy they give you! I have worked at two different vets and also volunteer at multiple local dog rescues. I have experience with ill, scared, and older animals, including livestock and reptiles. I will feed, walk, play, hang out for quiet time, medicate if needed, and even bathe if requested. "A animal in need needs Kayleigh indeed!" :) ha-ha!

If I had to choose just one word to describe Kayleigh and animals it would be “Care.” I have known Kayleigh as a neighbor and friend for over 10 years and have seen and experienced her care for animals of all shapes, sizes, and breeds. She is an animal foster who works with multiple organizations and I have seen her care for 7 bottle-feeding kittens, abused animals, aggressive dogs, and even adopted a foster tom cat, Pickles, who was coming for one night and has never left. While working as a kennel assistant at TLC Pet and Uptown Cat Hospital she experience with sick and injured animals as well and medication administration which were skills that allowed her to work in surgery at VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital and Referral Center. I can recall all the times I have received a call to help her catch a stray dog running in the street or the times I’m forced to walk the neighborhood knocking on doors to see if anybody recognizes her latest “find.” For me it gets a little annoying that I have to stop the truck to chase down a loose dog but it is the price I pay for having a friend like Kayleigh who cares that much about animals. To be fair, if I had to choose her weakness, it would be that she “cares too much.” One time we drove around the neighborhood for an hour trying to catch a rooster. Yes, a rooster. Since she couldn’t keep it at her house, I ended up with it. They are annoying animals, at least to me, and she thoroughly screened everyone who wanted the rooster (Woodstock) to make sure he was going to a good home and not the dinner table. I got a call once around 9 at night to help her catch a Chihuahua. By the time I got there, she was being questioned by the cops. Apparently she had climbed the gate into the courtyard of a business and caught the dog but the police thought she was breaking in. Then she tried to convince the officer to let her have the dog and not let the humane society take it. She really does “care too much.” She has watched my cats and cleaned their litter box and even cared for my girlfriend’s dog while I’m out of town. I trust her enough to let her know where I keep my spare key to my house. If you are in need of a person to watch your pet(s), I would highly recommend contacting Kayleigh.
