Avid animal lover since birth!

Pet care experience

Pets have been a part of my life every since I was brought into this world. I got my very own puppy when I was two, and she was my best friend for 16 years! I grew up in the country, so we had animals of every kind. Taking care of them was part of my daily routine. I have a year of veterinary technician school under my belt. I would have continued on for the degree, but my life outside of school had other plans for me. I also spent almost a year at the AllGood veterinary clinic as a kennel attendant. I cleaned and sanitized kennels, fed and watered animals, and also took all of the dogs for walks. When I went off to college, my two cats went with me. Upon returning home a year later, I adopted my sweet Karver girl. She is a husky mix, and has been my baby for 6 years now. Two and a half years ago I brought home Effie and Lettie, who are sister and brother. As cats, they get into all kinds of trouble together, but they’re super sweet. Almost two years ago Juniper was added to the bunch. She is my sour patch kid! She’s a Corgi who loves to be in everyone’s business. Then there’s Franko 2.0 and Marbles, our two beautiful Bettas!

Kayla was very trustworthy and reliable. She was able to take my booking on short notice. It was very clear they she is an animal lover. She left great feedback after the visit and follow instructions to the “t”. She complemented our puppy . I would definitely have her back again and hope to do so.

Kayla has been watching our dogs and home for over 5 years. She’s reliable and dependable. She has always communicated with us about the care of our fur family , no matter where we may travel. We have 3-100 lbs lab mixes who adore Kayla and are always very happy to see her come over. One of our pups has a slight separation anxiety issue, yet Ms Johnson is very patient with him. We also have cat, that enjoys the one on one time with her as well. With Kayla as our fur baby and home sitter, we never have to worry about what is going on while we are either vacationing or traveling for business. She keeps us informed of any issues and even sends of videos at various times during our trips abroad. This make our anxiety levels about home and family almost nonexistent, so we can enjoy our stay.

What I offer: Stop in service: are you going out of town for the day? Or will you unexpectedly be gone longer than you thought? I would love to stop in and give your pet some attention, treats, take them to go potty, or even take them for a walk! I live an active lifestyle; I am always on the go. Does your crazy schedule keep you from taking your pet on a walk as often as they need? No worries, I’ve got you! Are you going to be gone for an extended period of time and don’t want to board your pets? I would love to stay with them so they can be comfortable in their own home. This is the exact reason I always hire a sitter rather than board my animals. It is safer for them, and it doesn't stress them out. Plus, they LOVE making new friends!

Information Kayla J. would like to know about your pet

1. Are they comfortable around other dogs they may or may not know? 2. Do they use any special equipment when on a leash? (harness, muzzle, pull collar, etc.) 3. Do they receive treats while behaving on a walk? 4. Are they only able to walk a certain distance before becoming worn out? 5. Do they pull while walking on a leash?

A typical day

If allowed and the essentials are provided, I would take dogs I watch to the dog park. I also enjoy walking dogs through Crapo and Dankwardt park, and sometimes Stars Cave. Playing outside in an open yard is just as fun, though!

I work a full time job, as well as a part time job, both of which are SUPER flexible. Pet Care is my top priority. My full-time job as a barista allows me to serve customers the best coffee in town, while still being able to have a life outside of work. My Part time job is only two hours a day in the afternoons, Monday through Friday.
