Experienced dog foster & owner
Pet care experience
I’ve been a dog mom for 5 years now and recently just welcomed a rambunctious Australian shepherd puppy to the family! I fostered 10 dogs from 3 months old to 2 years old while I lived in Washington DC so I’m experienced with shy, nervous and reactive dogs, as well as dogs of all breeds and needs. Additionally I have a passion for dog training and am able to fit quick training sessions into check ins and walks if that is needed, or am happy to follow with a training program you have already started.
Reviews
Karen is an extremely experienced, dedicated, and loving dog owner! She’s does an amazing job caring for her two pups at home and has successfully fostered and found homes for dogs of all shapes and sizes. Your dog will be in the best hands possible with Karen!
I have known Karen for many years, during which she has fostered numerous dogs and currently has two of her own. She is extremely patient and loving with every dog I’ve seen her interact with over the years. Karen also has a passion for training and has applied her passion to help train even the most difficult foster dogs. She has given so many dogs a fresh lease on life, and she would be an incredible pet caregiver for anyone.

Safety, trust & environment
When walking, you never know how other dogs will react. So whether you feel confident in your dog or not, you should always take caution when interacting and introducing to other dogs. Secondly, dog proofed or not, new homes can be dangerous to pups! I also make sure that when my younger dog is unsupervised she is in a safe space where she cannot get into trouble. Lastly, dogs should never be left with toys that could break, splinter or be eaten.
Information Karen F. would like to know about your pet
If your dog has any special needs, training routines or dietary restrictions please let me know! Also if your dog has a favorite toy or type of play, that is also good to know.
A typical day
A tired dog is a good dog, and there are so many fun ways to play with and mentally stimulate dogs! Playing with tug toys, running in the yard, going for walks, doing some quick training work and providing mental stimulation chew toys are all ways that I keep my two dogs active during the day!

Availability
I work from home on a flexible schedule to fit in quick 30 minute check-ins or walks with your pup during the week while your not home. Or if you’re looking to work on basic manners, loose leash walking, etc. I am happy to also stop by on a regular schedule to work with your dog (and you if you’re interested).
