Pet care experience

Hi, my name is Karen! Dog sitting is something I have always enjoyed, and I've been a sitter on Rover for almost nine years. Providing a safe and fun home environment, combined with quality care and attentiveness has always been my primary focus. I've cared for many different breeds of adult dogs and puppies and I enjoy them all. I'm home full time throughout the day to provide the needed care, playtime, and supervision of your pup(s) throughout their stay. Our home is kept clean and clutter free to help ensure your pets comfort and safety. We have a three bedroom home with a living room and play room they would enjoy for relaxing and playtime. Our backyard is secure, spacious, fully fenced, and well maintained. --------------- Meet & Greet Info : I'm available for meet & greet visits on most weekdays Monday-Friday in the afternoon and evenings. All meet & greet visits are done in person here in the home, and the appointment usually takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Meet & greet visits are currently optional at this time. I'm always happy to answer any questions you may have or provide you with additional info. Feel free to message me anytime! Upcoming available dates for Meet & Greet visit (optional) : MAY 2024 - 8th, 9th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th, and 30th --------------- *** New to Rover customers will receive 20$ Off your first booked stay! Karen is a very experienced and a good sitter. It was krypto's first time boarding. She provided valuable inputs for Krypto's care. She suggested that Krypto will be better off in a exclusive care setup rather than being around many dogs. Thank you.

Safety, trust & environment

The safety, comfort, and happiness of your pups are my top priorities. They are always cared for as if they are a part of our family. I will send you updates often throughout their stay and my goal is to stay in touch periodically, provide you with a worry free experience, and give reassurance that your pets are being well cared for. When your pups vacation with us in our home, you can rest easy knowing they will have a safe, fun, and interactive stay! --------------- Required Vaccines - Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella Recommended - K9 Influenza Consult your veterinarian Needing an update on vaccines? Texas Coalition of Animal Protection (TCAP) offers a 25$ comprehensive vaccine package that includes all required vaccines. They accept walk in visits for vaccine updates on a first come basis with no appointment needed. Locations, vaccine packages, hours of operation, and services are available on their website. Tips can be made in person at pick up or conveniently through the Rover app by using the tipping option which will be available at the end of your pets stay. I'm always thankful and very grateful should you decide to express your appreciation by leaving a tip. --------------- Special Care Exceptions : Most dogs are a great fit for our home, however I'm generally unable to host pets that have any of the following special care requirements or conditions. These include dogs with high separation distress, high anxiety levels, dogs that are aggressive towards people or other dogs, dogs with a contagious disease, female dogs in heat, dogs that have a serious illness or injury, dogs that require insulin or other "injected" medications, dogs that are exclusively pee pad trained (unable to go outside), pets required to wear a vet prescribed cone or e-collar, pets that are unvaccinated against core diseases, and dogs that would need to be the only pet(s) in the home throughout their stay due to owner preference. Thank you for your support and understanding. Senior Care Exceptions : I'm currently hosting senior pets up to twelve years old, and they must be in good health overall and up to date on the required vaccines. (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella) I'm unable to host senior pets that have any of the following listed special care conditions or requirements. These include pets that require assistance eating or drinking including hand feeding, dogs that suffer from full vision loss, hearing loss, limited mobility, partial paralysis, high anxiety, high separation distress, or pets that require diapers due to incontinence. Also included are dogs that have high anxiety, high separation distress when away from owner, general incontinence or that require hourly potty breaks to prevent them from having accidents in the home. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Information Karen E. would like to know about your pet

I will send you a very brief first stay questionnaire to get to know a little about them before their first stay. Having their Rover profile complete and up to date is also very helpful and allows me to better understand your pets care needs and plan for their first stay. Thank you :)

A typical day

Fun activities will include indoor and outdoor play time, as well as other pet friendly games and activities inside the home. If they are the more calm or quiet type, i'm happy to provide them with a more relaxed stay setting by ensuring they have their bed, blanket, or favorite toy nearby. We also do one on one play time with their own toys throughout the day as well if that's something they would enjoy. All playtime interactions are supervised to ensure safe, fun, and friendly play! For overnight care, please pack their food and anything else you would like them to have or play with throughout their stay. A few examples are toys, food bowls, treats, chew bones, small dog bed, or a comfy blanket for bedtime. I recommend to not pack for them any glass or ceramic items such as food storage containers, food or water bowls. Pets will only have access to the toys, food, and treats that you provide for their stay. Refreshing chilled water is provided throughout the day for their enjoyment. We do potty breaks pretty often throughout the day for 10-15 minutes at a time as weather permits, and then once more before bedtime. In warmer months, we go outside for up to 10 minutes at a time to prevent heat sensitive breeds from overheating. I do always accompany them when going outside to the backyard to ensure their safety. In addition, I also work with puppies that are still potty training by using positive reinforcement and repetition. If you do treat training for your puppies good potty habits, please provide the treat of their choice and I will ensure they stay on their routine.
