Ever since I was little, animals have always held a special place in my heart. From reptiles, to dogs and cats, to barnyard friends - I love them all the same! Kennels are a no-no, and a house sitter, like myself, is a yes-yes! I am a dog groomer, but have over 5 years of experience in pet sitting all types of animals. I can even do a nail trim or a bath for your pup while you are away!

When I book an appointment for dog-sitting I expect to meet the person listed on the site when I drop off my pet. This didn't happen, though Kara's partner was very nice and seemed attentive to all of my instructions. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait for Kara to get home, but didn't anticipate any issues. When we made the appointment, we specified we would pick our dog up by mid-day the following day. This was overlooked by Kara and we were informed that neither she nor her partner would be available until later in the afternoon, which posed a huge inconvenience to us. But what I was really upset about is the attitude Kara adopted that somehow it was our fault and that we were not respecting the fact that she also has a life! No suggestion that maybe there was a way in which we could retrieve our pet sooner, and no apologies afterward when we picked him up. I will also add that from the time we contacted her in the morning until when we picked him up, our pet was left at Kara's home for more than 6 hours alone with her two dogs. This is not what we consider 'pet-sitting.' We would not be comfortable recommending her or using her services again.
We had a great experience boarding our dog with Kara. Bailey has some special needs, and Kara paid close attention to our instructions, was very clear in her communications with us, and sent us photos and updates that helped us track how Bailey was doing. We will not hesitate to board Bailey with Kara again.
Our dog had such a great time staying with Kara and her running around the yard with her pups that I think she was a little sad to come home. Thanks for making her feeling so welcome in your home.
I have never felt more comfortable leaving my dog with a complete stranger before. Kara has a way of making you feel so at ease. She truly treated my dog as if he were one of her own. I received pictures and videos the whole weekend and my boy really made himself at home. Knowing I left him with someone that genuinely cared about him made leaving him so much easier. I won’t even bother to use my kennel for overnights anymore because I’m obsessed with Kara!

I have an 8 foot tall vinyl fence in my backyard. So any pup, big or small, can have the freedom to run around and get some Vitamin D playtime in the sun! I also have 3 bedrooms, so if my client would like for their pet to be separated from the rest of the household, I can do that, as well.

I would want to know anything the owner thinks is important, such as any disabilities, behaviors, favorite toy, snack preferences, walk schedule, potty schedule, and anything else!
A typical day
Physical and mental stimulation is so important for our little fur babies. Whatever toy your dog loves, I’ll make sure we go out in the yard to throw it around! I love to take my dogs to the dark park, and, if the owner is comfortable with that, I can certainly bring their dog with us or alone. Walking around the block or neighborhood is something I can do, as well.

Availability
I’m currently working part- time, so I am available before 8am and after 2pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I am available all day and night on Wednesdays and on the weekends!
