Trained foster - dog park next door
Pet care experience
I have been a trained dog foster in Harrisonburg for the last 2 years, totaling 13 different sizes/breeds/ages of dogs. From 8 week old beagle puppies to 7 year old german shepherds and 13 year old golden doodles. I love all dogs and give them ample attention and play. Throughout my life my family has had 2 very different dogs, a lazy little pug and now a lab mix who deals with social anxiety. So I understand that all dogs have very different personalities and need different types of care, patience and attention to fit their personality and lifestyle. There is also a dog park in my neighborhood only a few steps away. I am a student so I do go to school, however my school hours are only Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11-4 so that still gives me lots of time during the week to care for dogs. I have dog toys, puppy pads and extra dog food in my house. My main level floor is also not carpeted and easily cleanable, so if your dog is not potty trained or has an accident, that is something I can deal with!

If there was an option for no stars we would check that box, Kaitlyn, seemed very nice on the front end when we first met. We had her stay at our house over the weekend and by the end of the weekend we could see the patterns of a very dishonest person from her message's to us, feedback from next door neighbors and a camera in the house. She did not stay over at our house as promised, but made it look like she did. With technology and help from friends she clearly violated the contract and cannot be trusted. we have a 12 week old puppy and if it were not for our friends she would have left him in his crate for 14 hours!!!!! The worst part of it all is that she advised she was coming back to a friend that came to play with our dog and never showed up. We had to have our next door neighbor come over late that evening and stay with the dog and feed him breakfast. Kaitlyn continued to lie and lie through messages through Rover and we could see every move. She is a very dishonest person and would not trust her ever again with our dog or suggest everyone on here really really consider before using her. We have contacted Rover to have her TERMINATED from this site based as she is immature and NOT responsible! We'd be happy to explain the further details to anyone on here before they think about using this so called dog sitter! Absolutely Pathetic!
Kaitlyn house sat our dog while we were out of town. He seemed relaxed and happy when we returned and our house was clean and taken care of. Thanks, Kaitlyn!
Kaitlyn did a great job she paid attention to all the details that we discussed plus Sammy our French bulldog just loves her. Strongly recommend her for your dog sitting needs.
Kaitlyn was great with Maddie. She was super understanding of Maddie’s needs. I am going to be using her again.

I would like to know how they do with other dogs, as I do like to bring my pups to settings where they could come into contact with other dogs. No breed preferences! I am a lover of all four legged friends!
A typical day
I live in a large gated community so a day with me will absolutely include long walks around the community. There is a community dog park right across the street from my house where I would take the dogs as well. On a really nice day, your pup might enjoy a trip to the JMU campus quad! When we are not exploring and having fun outside I have neighborhood friends who love to have doggy playdates when I have foster dogs. So depending on how the pups interact with each other, that is always a possibility for you dog to make new friends! I will give them ample attention in my home and they are free to wonder upstairs and downstairs, I have dog areas and toys on both floors.
