Let’s go on an adventure!
Pet care experience
Does your dog love to hike? Then we should go on an adventure! I have owned/lived with pets my whole life, and frequently care for our friends' pets while they're away. I think our friend group is equal ratio dogs to people. ☺️ I am well-versed in dog behaviors and discipline, and have worked with dogs with some anxiety and behavioral issues, as well as buddies with medical needs. I love all animals, and will give your pet the same care and attention I give my own. You can trust they're in good hands! My partner, Nick, and I live in Wheat Ridge, and I work at Colorado School of Mines. Please note -- we do work full-time Monday-Friday (standard hours), though I do have some flexibility in my schedule, especially on days I am working remotely. However, if your pet is not able to be alone for several hours at a time, we might not be the right fit for you. For boarding, both of us will be involved in the care of your baby. If you live in the Golden area, I am available during the work-day (before 9:00 a.m., over the lunch hour, or after 5:00 p.m.) for drop in visits and/or walks. We have a three-year-old mutt rescue named Lucy. She’s a super sweet girl who loves other dogs. We are an active bunch, and take frequent walks throughout the day. ‼️IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ: For boarding, we have a few rules about staying with us (does not apply to walks or drop-in visits). Sorry to be so strict, but we want to ensure the best experience for everyone! - A Meet & Greet is required, at our home, for at least 30 minutes, to allow our dogs to meet each other. No exceptions! - No puppies under one year. (We love puppies 🥰, but we’re not the right fit right now for the care they require.) - No female dogs under three years (this has to do with dog pack mentality and female dog hormones). - No un-neutered males. - We only have room to board one dog. I make every effort to respond to requests as soon as possible. If contacting me on a Friday or over a weekend, please allow until Monday for a response. When not care-taking pets, we are usually playing in the mountains, with limited cell service/internet access. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding on this!
Reviews
Julie Ann was great! Reliable and does a great job keeping you up to date on the pups while you're out. Through the photos I could see my dogs were happy :)
Julie Ann is great with dogs and very reliable. I am picky about who I leave my temperamental dog with and Julie Ann has been a lifesaver for me so many times. When she's watching my Zoe I never have to worry. She gets Zoe out on hikes and camping and walks and gives her so much love when I'm out of town.

While we don’t have a yard, we are active and ensure dogs get plenty of exercise and play time. We allow pets on furniture, and can crate if preferred. We prefer to separate the dogs when we’re not home. We don’t leave our dog alone for more than eight hours at a time, and even that is pretty rare. I am remote two days per week as well.

Information Julie Ann W. would like to know about your pet
Does your dog get along with other dogs? Does your dog have any aggressive tendencies? What triggers your dog? Is your dog crate trained, or can he/she be put in a separate room without issue while we’re away? What does your dog like? (Dog park, hikes, play time, etc.) What helps them feel comfortable and loved?
A typical day
Walks: Front Range Hiking Trails, Clear Creek, Tomlinson Lake Lots of playtime and snuggles, with a built-in play buddy. We have TONS of toys and treats. Possibly fetch or a dog park, if your dog is interested in those things.

I have my own fur baby at home, who is spoiled with love and attention. We go on daily walks, usually one longer walk and one shorter walk, and hike weekly or more.
