Your dog will be a part of our family!!

Pet care experience

I have been pet sitting "professionally" since for 3 years now. I started just pet sitting for friends but found that we really loved it. I love having multiple dogs at home, and even been known to throw shin-digs where guests come with their pup(s)!! We have a large fenced in yard, and your baby (or puppy/dog) will be treated just like my babies. A typical day in the life of Mozzarella and Stella (my babies) includes, a walk in the morning and afternoon around our neighborhood/or Lake Montebello/Herring Run Trail, some lounging around home, some social interaction and playing with each other, both indoors and outdoors. Our doggies are well-behaved and very social, they have hosted guests (other dog clients) in their house for over 3 years now. If you have dietary/medication restrictions that need to be heeded I will comply happily. Also, if we need to transport your dog to and fro (vet, or your home), as well as, if you are looking for an at home doggie sitter, I am flexible. Why I love dog sitting? I have been a dog lover all my life. Always had them in life. And love to have them around. I just think they add a lot of joy to life and they keep me grounded. About my yard... I have a large fenced in area with a deck and grassy areas surrounding the deck. The fence in the backyard is 6ft tall. And I always make sure it's locked while the pups roam free in backyard. I also have windows that oversee backyard to keep an eye on them while they are outside. In the spring and summer I'll leave my backdoor opened and the dogs have free reign to come in and out as they please. If I see a dog needs a break from the others, or is not getting along, I make sure they receive some alone/break time. I also watch for chemistry, some dogs get along better with others and I know sometimes size is a factor, so I'm not opposed to let them out at different times/sessions. My experience administering medication I am comfortable administrating oral medication and have in the past.

Joanna is a wonderful dog sitter. Roxy had a wonderful time at Joanna's. Joanna sent us pictures of our dog Roxy which made my wife & I oh, so happy. We would definitely use her again but sadly she moved back to Florida, so that is not an option for us. We hope that she has a happy, healthy & successful life in Florida & we are sure she will make a lot of people in Florida happy with her dog sitting.

Joanna was a great sitter - flexible with drop off and pick up times, friendly, and she kept me updated and sent pictures during my trip. My dog is very shy/scared, but she adjusted quickly and got along great with Joanna's two pups. I strongly recommend leaving your dog with Joanna the next time you use Rover.

Joanna was the best dog sitter I've ever had!! Bailey absolutely loved her and she was always tired by the end of the day which was great for me since I work long hours and could only take her on short walks myself.

We have had Joanna as our dog sitter twice now and couldn't be happier with the service she provides. We have two dogs: a 10-year-old male Jack Russel Terrier mix and a 5-year-old female Dachshund/Corgi mix. The first time we used Joanna's services, we left our dogs with her for almost a week and received regular photos and updates on how they were doing. She has a large backyard so they got to spend some time in the yard (but it was November so they probably weren't out as much as they would be in warmer months) and went on frequent walks on nearby trails during their stay. When we returned, both of our dogs seemed happy and well-cared for. The second time we used her services, it was for a long weekend. Again, she took them on multiple walks along with her two dogs (amazing!) and sent us photos of how things were going. Everything went well, and we were very appreciative of the care she provided. Joanna's prices are very competitive, and she is extremely accommodating to our dogs' special diet. Even though our older dog can be a bit grumpy sometimes, her dogs seem to handle him well. I'd highly recommend Joanna if you're looking for a dog sitter.

Is your pup house trained/crate-trained? Is your pup on flea/tick/heartworm protection? Is your dog spayed/neutered? How does the dog do on a leash? How does he/she do with other dogs? Does he/she have any dietary needs I should know about?

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks: I walk the dogs around the neighborhood. Typically 20-30 mins about a mile once a day, depending on weather. When the weather permits, we go longer and we walk from my house to Lake Montebello or Herring Run Trail. Both parks are 1 mile from my home. Your dog's sleeping arrangement: Your dog will sleep in a doggie bed, or crate downstairs in living room or dining room. There are some return clients whose pups sleep on a doggie bed in my room. Depends on dog and how well-behaved/temperament. Time I'll spend with your dog: The same amount I spend with my pups. When I'm home. Which is about all day on weekends/holidays, they will have free reign of the downstairs of my home(living room/dining room/kitchen/deck/yard.
