Dog-friendly house w/ big yard!

Pet care experience

To be honest, I can't remember a time in my life when my family or I has not had a dog! Currently the star of the house is a playful, 4.5 yo husky, Leilani, who loves to play with other dogs! Some of our favorite activities include walking to the nearby park or playing tug-of-war with some of her many toys (which she loves to hand to furry friends!). We welcome friends of all sizes and have a few spare pet beds! About this sitter: My name is Jessica and I have been a dog-lover since day 1! I live with my fiance and our daughter (a crazy active toddler who loves dogs as well... but she can be handsy, so dogs must be good with kids). My home is cozy, yet very welcoming! Why I love dog sitting I have never not had a dog! My family had German Shepherds growing up, but I have had a plethora of experience with just about every breed but I have had huskies now for the past 16 years... so fur around the house is nothing new! I love pups of all breeds and sizes :) Meet my pets Leilani (Leila for short) is a 4.5yr old Siberian Husky who we rescued at 8wks old. She's got personality to boot, and albeit a tad bossy, she loves her furry friends! She's an extremely lazy puppy at heart, so she loves to play, but also loves to just lay down wherever we are. She was raised around older dogs, so she's good about leaving dogs alone when they don't want to play as well. About my yard Dogs love our backyard, we actually have 2 (they are separated with their own fences!), we have lawn and gravel and running and playing room galore! There are plenty of dog beds/ water bowls consistently cleaned and filled and kept in each area of the home. We have baskets and baskets of dog toys of all kinds, treat jars, and for the fun days, we have plenty of nice areas to walk to from the house! My experience administering medication Absolutely, as long as you tell me what you are 'ok' with your dog having (treat-wise), I can make it work. My favorite trick for those dogs who can seem to get a pill out of anything... a little bit of peanut butter!

Our dog loved staying at Jessica's! From the moment we arrived to drop her off, our dog was instantly welcomed by Jessica and her family. Jessica's love of dogs is evident. She kept us updated with photos I would definitely recommend her if you are looking to board your dog.

Jessica is wonderful! She is always happy and enthusiastic about watching Murphy when we travel. She is always quick to respond when I am missing Murphy with a few details and a quick photo too! Murphy is happy when he goes to see her and also just as happy when we return! She has been a blessing for our family!

Information Jessica M. would like to know about your pet

Being a husky house, they always seem to love other husky company, but the only requirement is that they are not destructive, and play really nicely with other dogs. Since I do work M-F during the day, I am home from 3pm onward during the week, and all weekends; yet it does not leave enough supervision around the house for dogs that need that extra set of eyes. My dog, Leilani, is extremely playful, yet is also used to dogs who don't care to play and want to be left alone. In a worse case scenario, I have separate spaces where dogs can be kept separate with plenty of room to spare (for the days they just need a little break from one another!). But I do make a point of taking them for a walk or to the dog park at least once a day (if time allows, then we go for both or twice!), so that they have a fun vacation as well!

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks There are two parks, one in each direction from the house. They are both only about 3-5 blocks and an easy walk w/ sidewalks, but both parks have a very large fenced-in grass area for the dogs to run wild and sniff to their content! Your dog's sleeping arrangement I have a couple extra dog beds (one medium size, one large size), or you're welcome to bring theirs! We clean/vacuum the couches and bed regularly, but we are never opposed to cuddle buddies either (for the ones that need a little extra attention!). We do lock the doors at night and keep the dogs inside, but are light sleepers and easily woken for bathroom breaks! Time I'll spend with your dog I do work full-time, but am home in the afternoons by 3 or so for the remainder of the day. I am a bit of a homebody, and playing with my pup and enjoying the day after work are my favorite things! On the weekends we do fun events where the dogs can join us; whether it be a hike, running at the beach, playing at the park, or tossing the ball around in the yard! Due to my full-time job during the week however, dogs that require more supervision (chewers, dogs with aggressive tendancies, etc...) seem to be better at a home where someone is home all day to supervise and give that extra love they need.
