Calm & Confident Care
Pet care experience
I have over 10 years of experience providing care for pets, including dogs, cats, and birds. I currently have a senior dog and cat - both very welcoming and used to having other animals around. The cat has her own bedroom to stay in when we have guests, so Rover friends do not need to be cat-friendly. I am an advocate for the welfare of all animals, and currently work part-time and foster for a local rescue. I am calm and confident with animals, and I truly love providing a day full of affection, exercise, and play for each animal in my care.

Another great stay. We’re super thankful to have someone we trust to watch our dog when we’re away. Thank you!!
Jennifer and her resident dogs are awesome! I could tell immediately that she is very thoughtful, caring and responsible. We have an anxious senior dog that doesn’t seem to do well in the typical boarding environment. Jennifer was so sweet and patient with her. She sent pictures and updates that made us feel comfortable that our dog was in good hands. You can tell Jennifer truly cares about the animals in her care. Highly recommend her!!
Jennifer was so great with our Emilio! She sent us lots of pictures and kept us updated on what was going on. We will definetely have her watching him again. Thank you, Jen! :)
Jennifer was amazing with our two dogs and we can't wait to use her again. We have two older dogs (one is special needs) and Jennifer was so attentive and caring and you could tell she just loves animals. She was wonderful about keeping us updated with texts and pictures when we were away, so we knew they were in good hands. Our boys are usually stressed after being away, and they were calm and content when they came home and obviously had a great time. I would recommend her to anyone!

I'm currently renting a duplex in Edina. It's a very walkable area, and we often walk with or meet neighbors while we're out. Please let me know if your dog should have limited interaction with other animals or children while staying with us, and I will be sure to modify our path as needed. When I'm not home to supervise, visiting dogs will be kept in a separate bedroom from my resident animals and/or crated. Please let me know if your dog is crate trained when booking.

Information Jennifer S. would like to know about your pet
What are the dog's house rules? - Is it okay to allow him onto furniture in my home? - Is he typically crated when left alone? Has your dog shown signs of separation anxiety? - What seems to help? Calm music, stuffed kong, etc.? Is your dog aggressive towards other dogs while walking on a leash? How much exercise is your dog used to? - Could they join in our 1-2 miles once or twice a day or prefer shorter trips?
A typical day
Dogs staying with me can walk, play, and relax with my dogs, having access to the entire home including furniture, dog beds, and toys when I am here to supervise. Dogs may only be separated/confined by baby-gate briefly during mealtimes, and then be in separate rooms or crated when I'm not home to supervise. The dogs will go outside every 3-4 hours on weekdays, and may be left home alone for about 4 hours at a time when I'm teaching. On weekends we enjoy even more outside time and dogs are rarely home alone more than an hour a day. Exercise will be based on the needs and abilities of your dog - we can add playtime, shorten walks, etc. Please be open about any physical or behavioral issues that may affect your dog's daily routine! PLEASE NOTE: If the first day of the stay begins before noon or the last day ends after noon, additional cost may be added for that time. For example, if your dog stays 9 AM Friday - 7 PM Sunday, the cost will reflect 3 full days worth of care instead of just two nights as Rover calculates.

Dogs in my care get potty breaks every 3-4 hours during the day, and a daily walk through the neighborhood to nearby Todd Park. On weekdays during the school year when I'm teaching, I will have some days that I use my own dog walker for the lunchtime potty break. I also have a pet stroller for any dogs who would like to join our outings but may not otherwise be able due to age or other restrictions.
