Growing up with pets taught me the great responsibilities having a furry friend entails. It also taught me patience, compassion, and how to think on your feet! Those skills have been sharpened continuously over the years caring for pets of friends and family and especially now that I have my very own rescued pup. Being functionally fit also puts me at an advantage because I can manage even the largest of dogs. I thought my cousins 60 pound Labradoodle was strong until I gave my friends Rottweiler a walk and had to (successfully) control her from chasing after a squirrel. Mind you she weighs almost as much as I do!
