Lifelong Animal Lover and Caretaker
Pet care experience
I'm a creative professional and freelancer, but I've always had an equal love for animal care and health. Since 2011, I've done sitting and walking for friends, family, and various word of mouth connections. Over the past years, Rover has helped me spread beyond my personal network and ramp up my business. Canine and pet care has become a staple in my life. :) Since I can work from my laptop on my own schedule, I am able to give tons of attention and love to your beloved pet, and accommodate any of your needs. I have a lot of experience with special needs and unique animals. I am very comfortable with administering medication or special care during check-ins and house sits. I also accept all exotics! I am comfortable and familiar first hand with any dietary needs, such as raw or whole prey diets, since I’ve owned and rescued reptiles. I've given vaccinations to animals ranging from small dogs, to angry lizards rescued from wild import conditions. If I wasn't a graphic designer and illustrator, I'd probably be a zookeeper, vet tech, or herpetologist!
Reviews
Fantastic all around.
Janelle helped us out when we needed a last minute sitter for our sick pup and she took great care of him and our house. Would definitely have her dog & housesit again!
Janelle was a lifesaver! She took exceptional care of my 3 cats over the holiday weekend -- sending lots of pics, spending a good amount of time cuddling, and seeing to their needs during her visits. I will definitely be booking with Janelle again in the future!
My dog Charles loves attention and Janelle is always happy to provide it - thanks for spoiling Charles while I was away!

Safety, trust & environment
I care for others’ pets as if they were my own. I’ve lived with animals for nearly my whole life, so maintaining their safety and comfort is hardwired into my brain! Many people in my life have referred to me as an animal magnet. If an anxious pet finds themselves in a room full of people, chances are they'll come to me for cuddles and safety. :) We will talk about your pet’s needs, favorite things, triggers, health, emergency/veterinary contacts, etc. before I stay at your home. In addition, I am always a text or phone call away!
