Hi, I'm Jan. I love working with puppies and dogs! I have 10 years experience working for a vet. See review from Dr. Daniel G.
I have a really great roommate I've known for 24 years, and shes' a total animal lover just like I am. She's also a Rover sitter. We co-sit together so the pups get tons of attention.
I worked the puppy section at the animal shelter for about a year. I've trained and shown both puppies and adult dogs in obedience. I've done pet sitting since 1994.
I'm home all day so your furbaby will get all the love and attention he or she needs.
I live in a large house two-story house in a safe neighborhood. I have a doggie door and a large fully fenced yard.
I have three wonderful dogs. All are, fixed, and current on all their shots. They love to play with puppies and are great at helping socialize your little one.
Overnights are done indoors where they are safe and warm. Your dog can be crate trained at night, sleep on a doggie bed, or they can sleep with me if you like. I'll do what ever it takes to make you and your dog happy.
Drop-offs start at 10:30am. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Pick-ups are as late as 12am. Arrangements may be made for later pick-ups with advance notice.
About this sitter:
I'm a huge dog lover of all breed. I do have some breed and temperament restrictions for boarding, so PLEASE read my profile to make sure your little one will fit in and you can see my rates.
I've either worked with or trained dogs & puppies for over twenty years.
I own three sweeties that just love to have doggie company. I'm a stay at home dog mom with lots of time for your little one.
I've worked for a vet for almost ten years with some tech experience. I can give shots and medications if needed with ease. Please ask for fees if any medication will have to be given.
With me, your fur-baby will be in GREAT hands.
Honestly, I've been a dog lover since birth. I'm the type of person that when I see a dog I ask the owner if I may pet their dog. I believe that there is no such thing as a bad dog, just bad owners.
I've worked with dogs at both an animal shelter for about a year and a speciality surgical vet office for about 10 years. I've babysat for some of the vets I've worked with. I've also had 3 years in obedience training and have done obedience dog shows which we've placed in.
I'd just like to know the basic things. Did they have any shots? Is the dog an inside or outside dog? Are they on any medication? Do they have any health problems (including worms, ticks or fleas)? Is there any special needs? Is the dog fixed? Has the pup had any training etc... Anything you'd like to tell me would be great too.
Males over 6 months must be neutered/females over 9 months must be spayed. I cannot accept any dogs in heat. IF A FEMALE COMES INTO HEAT DURING THE STAY, A NON-NEGOTIABLE ADDITIONAL FEE OF $10 per day will be added which we have already cleared with Rover.
No aggressive dogs (food aggressive dogs can be fed alone), high energy dogs, barkers, jumpers, runners (bolting for/out the door) or diggers. I do have a preferred size limit of 50 lbs or 20" at the withers, but I do make exceptions.
There is a slight fee increase for:
• Puppy overnights
• Larger dogs than I normally take in
• Special needs dogs
• Daily doggie day care also available. No age limit.
***Sorry, but I can't take in Rotties, Chows, Akitas, Siberian Huskies, Shiba -Inu, Vizslas, Weimaraners, Shar-Peis, or German Shepherds.
I can take your fur-baby to the vet if needed. I two very dependable four wheel drives vehicles, so even the snow won't stop me in case of an emergency. There is a great emergency clinic a mile from my home.
Very much so. I do booster shots all the time, and I give one of my own dogs eye drops daily. In fact, her eye vet told me I take AMAZING care of her eyes, and I'm very disciplined with it.
• Please ask for fees.
As much time as they want. They'll get play time with me, my roommate and my dogs.
I live in a two-story home. The area around the stairs is baby gated so there is no access to the front door or stairs. I have a pretty big fully fenced yard. I have a doggie door to help get your puppy housebroken if need be. The yard is grass with some small trees.
They can be crated, have a doggie bed or share the bed with me. Sorry, but I won't do any outdoor overnights. I feel a dog is a family member and should be treated as so.
For liability reasons I do not take dogs out of my home. I have a huge fenced yard which allows the dogs to get plenty of exercise.
