I grew up with the most wonderful black labrador, Hollydog, who I still miss every day. She got to the grand old age of 16 and never walked on a lead or stole food. She slept by my bed every night and was as good as gold. So let me tell you the learning curve I had when we adopted our three-legged, Bosnian street dog, Luna (pictured). Learning about her... 'quirks', and how to make her now forever home the best place for her, it has been interesting to see how much work needs to be done our end. A lot of positive reinforcement and reassurance, she is now the cuddliest and sweetest girl ever, if sometimes a little spicy. I have never owned a reactive dog before, and it's given me insight on how to not only be aware of a dogs body language and cues they give you, but also have more respect for the dogs and their owners.
